Special occasions call for a special kind of photographer, and few occasions are more special than your wedding day. You do, after all, only get one of them (well, that's the idea anyway) and so the photographer needs to capture anything and everything as perfectly as possible in order to preserve your perfect day. It's a big responsibility, and as you can see, some people take that responsibility very seriously indeed! Compiled by Bored Panda, this behind-the-scenes look at the world of wedding photography reveals the hard work and dedication that goes into taking the perfect wedding picture.

Can't believe it, this is my sisters wedding!! They are still just as happy and in love!
No, it shows what proper lighting will do to change an image. If he had only used the ambient light it would look roughly the same as the before picture. Using different light allows for different exposures to be achieved. I'm willing to bet that this image was created 99% in camera.
Load More Replies...Why would anyone want a "stormy sky" for their wedding/wedding photos?
It's called day for night and requires a flash....no major altering here folks

Love your work chris cant wait for my daughters wedding photos
Load More Replies...All I can think is, "How the F*** did they get up there and more importatnly, WHY?!?"
Amazing shot, but I wouldn't want to be the bride, the groom, the photographer, or the photographer photographing the photographer!!!
Yes, but how did they get up there? And without ruining those clothes? Does the North Face make wedding gear?
Bad symbolism - the wedding looks like there will be no room to move. Its a dangerous symbol.
I wonder just how many brides dresses this photographer has seen the inside of. Good excuse - can't get arrested if you get permission first! lol
To the people saying the photographer is perverted: look at the original photo. The photographer is between the lace overlay and the actual dress itself. Get your mind out of the gutter and look at the creativity for the final shot.
Or... A romantic moment that took the skills of a gifted photographer to capture. ;)
Load More Replies...That's what happens with a backlit scene and concentrated flash and a good photographer who knows their stuff. Some of us were good BEFORE photoshop was invented.
Load More Replies...This is a hell of a photo. The togger did well to see and plan this in his/her mind and execute the final product. Knowing how to use his/her kit to get the desired shot says a lot also (small aperture to get the shot dark and to get the sun to starburst using the aperture blades. I do this frequently. To whoever said it was a fake moment....how? The couple are in love. They're just married and they're looking at each other lovingly. It's real nice. What's fake there? Sometimes you have to really look for shots in venues that lack stunning settings and that's where a good photographer becomes a great one.

Load More Replies...I have a hard time accepting this one. In the top photo, the building is almost directly behind them, albeit behind trees. In the bottom photo, the shadow to the right of them is very much building-like and much closer.
Wow, I love how the Photographer changed the whole environment with lights.
Ah, this is hilarious, but they should have faded a few things into the background...

I'd pay for doing the foto!!!! ;-) Geat one!!
Load More Replies...Yes, it is on the ground..and no she may not mind...but why not just take 4 extra seconds to lift the dress up a bit and stand right underneath it? And I'm sure this was after the ceremony...or 100 other possibilities...

Load More Replies...Hehe...proof that the photographer is Making that photograph and not just taking it. Would love to see the end result.
Load More Replies...He is awesome!!! And at last we got the drowns so no more climbing:):):)
I just had to think about the poisonous spiders, snakes... Isn't it risky to lay there?
This is seriously a great idea, having an assistant for extra height for shots from above. I'm going to have to start trying that, considering I'm 4-10...
Being a photographer's assistant isn't all its CRACKED up to be hehehe
If that photo assistant gig doesn't work out, I see a little some plumbing potential.
I am really wondering what the thought process is here...doesn't seem like wind is a factor but could be...she is obviously staying out of the shot...perhaps if they let the "train" go, it would've hit the rails and made for a less attractive shot? Either way, doesn't look like the best hazy shots will be happening, maybe they're going for a silhouette shot of some sort.
Nope. Not taking my gajillion dollar camera into the surf. Unless the couple is paying for its replacement!
Lol do you know how many brides drown because the dress get too heavy in the water.... hehe i think she's struggling more than anything...
Have you people not heard of "wreck the dress" photoshoots? Or waterproof cases for DSLRs? smh at all these comments.
How do you know if she's actually wearing the entire wedding dress in this picture?? You don't. Enough said.
I was in Vegas one time and I laid on my back to get a proper angel on a building I was taking a picture of, I don't see the problem.
Or you could look at it as symbolic to how they came together. she managed to turn his head and capture his attention.
Load More Replies...THIS is what real photographers do. It's not the event, it's the SHOT. It doesn't always work, but screw it. You've got the other stuff covered anyway. This one's for you.
Artificial shots...stunning pictures but probably not the moments to remember.
You have a whole ceremony + party to get genuine shots.
Load More Replies...It has been very much the trend in parts of Asia to concentrate more on how you would like your wedding day to have looked rather than remembering the happy occasion for what it was. It is a theme park mentality that shows no decline in emerging markets.
Thank you Rich Clark... There is also the point that in Asian culture is there is an entire movie often made, of both video and stills like this, that often tell the story of how they met, how they feel about each other, and recreations of moments that were important to them in their courtship... Often full of various symbols, such as the rose petals in this. So, everyone, don't judge unless you understand all of the culture behind this...
Wish we could see the actual photo that resulted from some of these!
Some of these people must have serious money to go getting their wedding dress all wet in ponds, lakes and ocean surf.
Or maybe they're ok with getting their dresses all wet and dirt for some fun and awesome photos since they're never going to wear the dress again? I trashed my dress and it has sat in its garment bag ever since - untouched. I'd rather do something fun with the thing. Seems like it actually justifies the cost of the thing
Load More Replies...From the fresh flowers around her head, and a couple other things....I think she may be laying on a pallet with fresh grass and flowers on it.
Imagine all the creatures inside that pond, and she choose to pose like that...
Not exactly the view the official photographer envisaged, am sure!
Well am guessing the bride removed her mask briefly for the final shot once set up.
Thanks for that clarification, Caption Obvious.
Load More Replies...What do you think? How many times they tried to shoot this moment? :'D
You can tell this shot was an awesome one. But I sure do wish we could see the final one.
Gotta love the commitment: Falls out of the tree but makes sure his camera is safe :-) (I hope he survived!)
Are they so lost in each other that they didn't notice their photographer falling out of a tree or hear the snap of his neck breaking!
This is staged from a funny photographer satire video on youtube :-)
Chairs, ledges, very little escapes the "I need height for the shot" list that we photographer will climb up.
Under the light brown mud is thick, black stinking gloop. If the wind is in the right direction they'll be choking instead of laughing. They'll need a new, clean photographer too (the stench lingers long after washing)
This bouquet has its own photographers, and I can't even get a text back
This is probably a pretty shot. Notice how at least one of the bridesmaids is holding her dress tight....no peeking....lol. ; )
My wedding photographer did one of these shots with both all bouquets and full wedding party with champagne flutes, very cool finished product.
I notice the majority of these couples are Asian. I wonder if having outlandish wedding photos is a cultural phenomenon of one nationality. I'm thinking some of them are from Singapore or Japan.
It looks pretty large, it may have been a natural disaster that is being fixed behind them. And maybe they were trying to get as close as possible to a certain site that held a special meaning for them.
Bet this one turned out great too. Apparently to see any finished wedding photos I'll have to google "Wedding photos".
Never considered using incense for smoke before.... Bet it's cheaper than smoke bombs too!
These resemble incense sticks use for ceremonies involving the deads.
Load More Replies...Those resemble incense sticks used to pay respect to dead relatives and ancestors.
I would love to see this final photo. With the color of her dress and the buildings behind them it probably turned out perfect. What happened to before AND after? : (
I have a series like this from my wedding day except my photographer was laying on a beach. The final photos are natural looking shots of us walking up and down the beach holding hands... this series would be the same.
Load More Replies...Considering the other photographers' extreme poses, I would never choose to wear white as a photographer :D
Sometimes the bride dictates what should be worn. BTW, I wouldn't choose white either.
Load More Replies...More likely assistant has a cold etc. They are very conscientious towards others when ill in Eastern and Asian countries
Load More Replies...Person shielding the photographer, for lighting perposes I asume.
Load More Replies...He could be shooting with a 70-200, which takes standing way the hell away to actually get. Or he's after a wide angle shot and wants to showcase the location and the couple.
Load More Replies...He may have felt that it helped him stay balanced, so he wouldn't fall and ruin the shot.
Load More Replies...For today's class we are going to learn to keep our hands to ourselves!!!
I agree with Stefan.....that's the way it is in some parts of the world. Even now...even in 2016. Each culture has their own reasons for doing it that way. Thank God I'm an American....I have never married. And I don't see it happening in this lifetime either. But as I was told, Never say Never...lol.
I love this. I was never filthier than when I was doing photography. I love that this series shows what lengths a good photographer will go to in order to get that one sweet shot that just would not happen otherwise.
I'm a wedding photographer in Western Australia. I've smashed my shin on a barely visible bench at dawn once (and jumped over it somehow so save myself), stood on bins, fences and wobbly tables, climbed trees, walked barefoot on sharp rocks and many more... Lying on the ground is softcore ;) I'll do whatever it takes to get a great shot :)
God, I hope none of these couples get divorced, their photographers will kill them!
Or the phototographer gets two new clients when they re-marry.

I love how staged and fake these are not to be a pessimist but looks like all you need is a puddle somewhere and you can take wedding photos lol
a puddle, a couple of grand's worth of gear a little training and a buttload of experience
Load More Replies...I've had to double check - but my sisters wedding is #1. I've just showed her this post and she can't believe it. They are still just as happy as they appear in the picture.
Stunning wedding images and thanks to the photographers for their efforts.

Hard Work? Really!? Photography is not hard work. Framing a house, digging for coal , running a marathon is hard work. Cliche photography anyway. Corn ball stuff. Nice but corn ball.
