I actually have a photo of me playing Scrabble with my cat on an New Years Eve. And also photoghrapic proof of her cheating - you can clearly see her paw trying to move the blocks spelling out "Prey"

I have two legged grandkids, the youngest is 3 and he absolutely loves my big cat, Newt. The feeling is mutual, Newt loves him. He says, every time he's here, "Big Boy Newt is my bes fren" he needs buťť pats. Then doles out treats for Newt, Fat Alice and Iris, and the current batch of fosters: Jinx, Cricket, Hansel and Gretel, and Bonnie and Clyde.

Unless you completely close off your kitchen, they're going to get up there anyway. That's what disinfectant is for. Personally, I love having Newt on the kitchen bench while I make my morning brew, I pet him, he purrs while the kettle boils and I feed him and the other furry idiots.
