The Art Gallery at the Rockefeller State Park Preserve is delighted to announce ‘Flights of Fancy’, a unique fundraising event that celebrates the intersection of art and nature. Thirty-two accomplished artists have transformed simple wooden birdhouses into beautiful masterpieces, drawing inspiration from the Preserve’s landscapes and wildlife.
Coordinated by Lisa D’Amico PhD, the newly appointed gallery curator, these one-of-a-kind creations will be showcased during a reception on Saturday, May 10th, and available for purchase through an online auction beginning March 10th. All proceeds will support necessary repairs and improvements to the gallery, ensuring it remains a community space for artistic and cultural engagement.
Nestled within the tranquil Rockefeller State Park Preserve, the Art Gallery is part of a nature sanctuary that features diverse wildlife, woodlands, meadows, carriage roads, streams, Swan Lake, and the Pocantico River.
The Flights of Fancy fundraiser offers guests the rare opportunity to acquire an original artwork from the gallery while contributing to its preservation and artistic efforts. The reception will be held on Sunday, May 10th, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. (rain date May 11th) at the Art Gallery at the Rockefeller State Park Preserve, 125 Phelps Way, Pleasantville, New York.
