I Created A Dark Fantasy Photography Series About Mermaids Forced To Live On Land

I'm Sabrina Nielsen and I'm a fine art fantasy photographer located in Denmark. Driven by the need to create tangible pieces of my dreams, I design and sew creative costumes to bring to life the characters in my mind. I then do elaborate photoshoots with those costumes and put the fantasy world characters into what I envision as their natural environment. Recently, I have ventured into filmmaking and have created a short film this year - for me, filmmaking is the ultimate media for storytelling, which is what I love to do.

What you see here is an excerpt of my creative photography work, specifically from a large photo series that I've been working on for a few years now: "The Soul Chronicles". I'm building a fantasy world with many magical creatures and unique lore.

Shown here is a part that focuses on the mermaids in my world. The creative photos combined with the film "Heirs to the Sea" tell the story of how mermaids have been driven out of the seas by a dark creature. They have lost their tails and been forced to live on land. In the film, we follow three mermaids trying to bargain with the Queen of the Moon to get back their tails, so they can return home.
