For 3 Years In The Row, This 8-Year-Old Girl Dresses Up As Iconic Women For Black History Month (30 pics)
In honor of black history month, a mother and a daughter teamed up to recreate photos of iconic black women.
Back in February 2017, Cristi Jones decided to commemorate the month by dressing her 5-year-old daughter and shared the results on Twitter. While there were so many women worth to mention, Cristi decided to take one photo per day and narrowed down the list to 29 memorable figures. Not only did her daughter had so much fun picking out costumes and dressing up, but she also learned about important black women throughout history. The mom and daughter duo has been continued this tradition for the last 3 years. Scroll below to see the result!

Im sorry but no disrespect but even rosa admitted that her bus protest was stagged. It actually happened to a pregnant 15 yr old girl, but the naacp thought that would give a bad optic. So they had their married secretary rosa parks do it again. She got all the fame and fortune...the real hero ?.. barely even known
But she spread awareness. That's the point.

Angela Davis was a hateful hypocrite. When asked in an open letter to support Czech prisoners, Davis refused. Regarding Czech prisoners being "persecuted by the state", Davis responded "They deserve what they get. Let them remain in prison." Alan Dershowitz, who also asked Davis for support for political prisoners in the USSR, was analogously told "they are all Zionist fascists and opponents of socialism."

She died young, but accomplished so much. She's the one who said, "I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired"--but that may be the least of accomplishments! For attempting to vote, she was shot at 16 times by the KKK. She was also given a hysterectomy without her consent, but she fought for voting rights and for the rights of women
Adorable way to represent these great people from history. Thumbs up to you, child!
Sojourner Truth--born into slavery, she escaped with her infant daughter and returned two years later to win back her son--in the courts, and she did. She named herself Sojourner Truth. Amazing.
Such a great job representing the well known and lesser known female patriots!

This is a brilliant and very effective series. Great way to celebrate Black history.
She helped found the YMCA! she was the wealthiest woman at the time of her death (and she came from the cotton fields in the south), and she hired women in managerial positions.
Her end is very sad. She died poor and ill and was buried in an anonymous grave.
However Alice Walker (the author of the colour purple) rediscovered her and bought her a gravestone, if I remember correctly

Lady Day. Unfortunately, the entertainment industry has always been hard on performers, and it affected her personal life.

My thoughts exactly! She can convey emotions in a very mature way.

SUGGESTION: Loretta Mary Aiken, was the first black, female and possibly first ever stand up comic. For over 50 years she was a popular vaudeville and live performer. She met with LBJ prior to his signing the 1964 civil rights act and still holds the record for the oldest person with a top 40 hit. She performed under the name Jackie "Moms" Mabley. She may not look like it, but she was a kick but trailblazer!!!!
I remember Moms Mabley! Yes, I am THAT old, kids! There are some vids of her on You Tube.
