Bunny Born With No Ears Gets The Most Adorable Crocheted Sets From The Owner
Mimi the rabbit, was born deaf with only three legs, and while she may not be able to hear, thanks to her owner, she has a unique new set of bunny ears – made of crocheted wool.
Rodajia Welch, 22, got the baby bunny through a fellow volunteer at her job where she provides basic pet care needs to low income and homeless pet owners in her hometown of Sacramento. “As soon as I saw the cute bunny I fell in love and couldn’t wait to take her home,” said Welch. Well not only did Welch give the bunny rabbit a new home but her two missing ears back.
The idea came from a name search said the California native, “Deciding to make the ears all started with finding her a name – it obviously had to be ear-related. So while doing some research my boyfriend Josh came across Kemonomimi, which is a form of cosplay where the characters have fluffy animal ears.” Thus the idea was born to dress Mimi up with her own set of cosplay crocheted ears, “It was perfect because she didn’t have any ears and she could be whatever she wanted to be.”
The three-legged white bunny now has an impressive collection of homemade rabbit ears.”She only wears the ears after I’ve just made them for pictures, or when she’s sitting with me,” explained Welch, “She lets me put them on her, but for safety reasons I don’t tie them in a knot so if she wanted to, she could just knock them off pretty easy.”

This is Mimi, she was born earless with only three legs
But thanks to her owner Rodajia Welch she has gotten some of her limbs back…kind of
Welch crochets custom bunny ears for Mimi and they are adorable
The idea came when the 22-year-old was trying to come up with a name for her
“While doing some research my boyfriend Josh came across Kemonomimi, which is a form of cosplay where the characters have animal ears”
“I got super excited and decided to make her own pair of bunny ears”
“She only wears the ears after I’ve just made them for pictures, or when she’s sitting with me”
She normally creates rabbit-shaped ones but has recently experimented with a mouse-like pair too
“She lets me put them on her but for safety reasons I don’t tie them in a knot so if she wanted to, she could just knock them off pretty easy”
The sweet bunny was adopted by Welch from another volunteer at the non-profit they work for, which provides care to pets of low income and homeless owners
Along with Mimi, Welch is fostering her mom and siblings until she is old enough to be on her own
“She’s about seven-weeks-old so it shouldn’t be long”
Most people agreed Mimi was just as cute with and without ears

Share on Facebook'Is it even a rabbit without ears?' Yes. The same way humans without limbs are still human. :)
With or without ears. Either way the rabbit is cute.
Load More Replies...Rabbits are NOT rodents! So, yes, it IS a rabbit! And NOT a guinea pig!
Margaret Hallam, Why would you “assume” the rabbit would be uncomfortable? Have you ever been a rabbit?
I think this bunny is adorable with or without ears. Sweet owner and sweet story.
So cute. Either way. We sure like dressing up our animals and I think 99.9% of the animals like it too .... they love the attention and all the cooing and ahhing from their caretakers. Except my cats. They HATE anything I try to put on them. So I don't. But sure wish they did so I could take cute pictures too. But their feelings come first ... so I don't irritate them. That is what Photoshop is for .... unwilling participants in dress-up.
Ms. Welch you are the best! You are an angel! Thank you and a big hug for being such a caring and wonderful human. And love and hugz from Mimi!
It sorta does, but rabbits aren't rodents, and Guinea pigs are, so it can't be an actual guinea pig. :D

Such a sweet little thing, good to see that not everyone wants only 'perfect' furbabies!
Awwwww this is so much like my bunny!!! Ajax is blind, three legged, and elderly rescued from a meat auction.
That is just freaking sweet and adorable. That love...bunny is super cute either way
At first I thought the bunny was adopted, how can it be set free, it may not survive if unable to hear the predator coming !!!
Margaret Hallam, why would you “ assume” the rabbit would be uncomfortable? Have you been a rabbit?
SQUEEEEEEE now this precious bunny´s definitely loved & pampered by her mummy!!!
The bunny doesn't know he's missing his ears, but he knows something foreign & uncomfortable is tied to his head.
Hmmmm the bunny looks cute but honestly also uncomfortable. It can’t be nice to have something tied to your head like that. I expect the wool is also the wrong material too as it will probably cause bunny to get a warm head.
Was he really born with this? Unfortunately some rabbit moms tend to eat more than the afterbirth and don'T realize it's their babies ears or legs they eat. (we had that with one of ours but we could safe the little one before mom started with its legs. It has no ears as well)
Do you put clothes on a dog or a cat? Cause they don’t need those things to make them feel comfortable, but humans seem to think they do.
