No matter how many kids people have, the basic rule is to treat all their children equally. Unfortunately, some folks ignore this principle, which is why their little ones might end up in conflicts that could easily have been avoided.
This is what one woman faced when she wasn’t given a penny, but her brother received their late father’s entire life insurance payout and rights to their family home. Even though she didn’t see it as a red flag at first, her husband was mortified for her and did his best to correct the situation, which led to intense fights.

Over time, it seems like the older woman noticed how much help and support her daughter was giving her, so she added her to the family home’s mortgage
The mother also realized that her son had been babied too much, so, along with the couple, she set boundaries with him about how much help he would receive in the future
The man explained that he had done as much as he could to help his in-laws, but he felt that he had reached his limit and wanted them to handle things on their own
Nobody wants to think about getting life insurance because the reason it’s needed often feels too morbid. According to experts, it can actually be beneficial to understand your policy in depth and choose the right nominees who might require financial support the most. Sometimes folks have multiple dependents, so if they plan to add all of them to the insurance, it’s best to talk with them beforehand to avoid confusion later.

When it comes to inheritance, most children are expected to receive an equal amount of money, yet Michele Ungvarsky says this is not always the case. Sometimes, people reward certain loved ones with a larger share if they have been longtime caregivers, are disabled and need extra protection, or have been dealing with financial struggles.
This division of inheritance might seem fair, especially if someone truly needs the money, but in certain countries, women receive the short end of the stick, whether they deserve it or not. According to Landesa, there are many places where women are simply not allowed to inherit property or be an heir due to cultural biases.
These societal norms can be hard to unlearn and may even be passed down as traditions to the next generation. Psychologists note that this is why parents need to be aware of the biases and inherited fears they carry forward that might be affecting their children’s lives. By questioning these concepts more, they might be able to change certain mindsets and make things better for their little ones.
It seems like this is exactly what the woman’s mom did by adding her daughter to the family home mortgage, even though, in her culture, women aren’t given the same standing as men. Unfortunately, the poster’s brother-in-law still has a long way to go in understanding his responsibility to his loved ones, but at least this small win might bring about a lot of change.

it was burried in the comment but this story is bs and makes no sense "the son says the inheritance is all his cause there wasn't a will", would mean they have been there months and haven't seen a lawyer, so either OP has the same learning disability the BIL supposedly has or this is as fake as most stories in reddit
