After This Dog’s Best Friend Died, He Was Depressed For 2 Years But Then This Duck Showed Up
George the dog has been depressed for the last two years since he lost his best friend of 12 years, a Labrador named Blackie. However, last Thursday a friendly duck waddled into his life out of nowhere and snuggled next to the sad pooch as he was laying on the porch of this home in Tennessee.
“We have no idea where this duck came from but he sure does love George and since the duck has arrived George has not cried one time,” George’s owner Jacquie Litton wrote on Facebook. “It is strange for a duck to just appear at our house and be attached to your dog and even more strangely the anniversary week of Blackie’s passing.” Since that day, the two have been inseparable. The duck follows George everywhere he goes and the pooch is not so lonely anymore. He’s finally smiling again.

Well I'm glad for George that the duck came into his life. Depression sucks. I need a duck. Lol

i had a duck when i was a kid. if you're really struggling with depression, i do believe a duck would help. they're really smart and affectionate. the only problem would be they poop uncontrollaby though and they would do much better with a small pond. i lived in a house with a nice garden and made her a pond, she was happy and blessed us with daily eggs my mother baked cakes with :)

reading/viewing these stories have helped me....I moved and Miss Kitty is missing. I'm going back over to the old house (3miles away) and sit for a while, just in case that's where she went. These stories are cheering me up, but I still fell like crying when I think of Miss Kitty. Big, old 6'1" 250lb 65 yo Vietnam vet. LOL

One wonders why the owners didn't get another animal for company for poor George rather than letting him be depressed for 2 years?

This is a domestic duck, not a wild one that wandered in. Maybe the duckie was dumped and looking for a friend, too. How sweet they found each other!

That is a beautiful duck! I have six of the same kind. They are white pekins. They are soft and cuddly. My only question is my ducks are wild. Unless the duck imprinted on the dog, how could it be so soft-hearted, as well as soft-feathered?
