But if they do match up, it can be true bliss on earth, especially for their furry four-legged friends.

Bounder is a 5-year-old black Labrador puppy. Side note, every dog to me is a puppy, regardless of age. Moving on. According to Bounder’s mom Brittney Reynolds, who told The Dodo, the dog is absolutely obsessed with playing fetch: “He will play fetch until I make him stop.” The loveable puppy enjoys spending time with everyone, becoming best friends at first sight. Especially if they play fetch with him.
One day, Brittney heard some commotion outside, with Bounder barking at something. Being the good mom she is, she went out to take a look and what she caught completely melted her and millions of people’s hearts.

Bounder was barking at the neighbor sitting on his back patio, a ball gun on the table next to him. It seemed he’d been playing with his own dog and Bounder caught interest through the see-through fence separating the two households and decided to sing the song of his people.
Brittney recalled that she “tried to tell him to stop barking, but the neighbor got up and started shooting the ball gun for him. It was just so cute. I went and thanked him for playing with my boy and found out that they had been doing this for a while.”

It seemed that the neighbor had taken notice of Bounder’s love for fetch as the family had their own ball gun, inspiring the neighbors to buy one for their dog Lyla. Every time Bounder saw them play, he wanted to join in, unable to deny his love for fetch and the neighbor was unable to deny him the joy of playtime. This had become their little secret which was now out in the open.
Britney said that it’s warmed her heart seeing someone care for her dog as much as they did. She said: “I am a huge dog lover, and it always makes me happy to see others treating dogs so well. Our dogs are our family, and I think you can tell a lot about a person by the way they treat animals.”

The heartwarming gesture led to the neighbors finally meeting each other, Bounder and the neighbor’s dog Lyla quickly becoming friends

Thanks to this little discovery, the neighbors have come closer together, the families and dogs becoming friends. Brittney has built a close bond with Nanette, the lady cohabiting with the man in the video, and Bounder and Lyla have had some playdates and it seems the neighbors have agreed on an open gate policy between the two households so that the pups can play together whenever they like.
But regardless, Bounder still looks forward to playing fetch with the neighbor, looking for him on some days. All Brittney has to say to that – “He’s a sucker for a game of fetch.”

The video gathered a whopping 6.8M views, viewers loving the kindness and love shared. Brittney also changed her channel’s description, jokingly saying, “I guess my dog has taken over my TikTok.” It does seem as though people are loving the updates on the little pup and his new friends, but they’re also sending a lot of support and encouragement to Brittney herself, which is lovely to see.
She stated in a following TikTok video that she “woke up to so much love, it’s so cute. It really made my heart happy.” The caption read: “I’m glad you love my neighbor playing with my dog as much as I do! I’ll take your suggestion and make him some cookies to thank him for loving my boy.”

No celebration goes without a birthday cake, gifts, balloons and a ‘good boy!’ tag on a collar. Of course, Lyla and her owners joined in on the fun, bringing a birthday bag full of treats and toys. Brittney got emotional talking about it on her TikTok page, saying, “I feel so lucky that my neighbor is like that. She just loves my dog. It’s so sweet and he deserves all the love in the world. I’m just really grateful!”

It seems as though the cookies, celebrations and introductions led to ever more discoveries. Brittney and Nanette, her neighbor, had met when Brittney was just a baby as she’d gone to school with her mother.
Brittney’s mom had started a new family when she was just 6 months old, so it was an incredible coincidence to be brought together with someone who’d known her mother. “It’s such a small world, be open to the crazy s**t that can happen,” said Brittney.
