Amazon Is Selling Dog Onesies That Protect Your House From Shedding And Helps Reduce Their Anxiety

If you don't want your dog shedding all over the house - don't get a dog. If you brush them regularly and, shock, use a vacuum cleaner regularly it's hardly a big deal. Dogs aren't meant to wear clothing - they come with their own fur coat. The thundercoats for calming, didn't work on my dog but it probably does on some and anything for medical benefits, fine! Otherwise, let your dog be natural!!

How do we know there is a calming effect, maybe they hate it

This is disgusting! Brush your dogs regularly, use a vacuum for crying out loud. If you don't want dogs in your car then don't get dogs!! Dressing up dogs is absurd!

I imagine how uncomfortable the dog will feel with with this thing on. Why would anyone do this to his\her beloved pet? Just brush it more often.

Fur here and there is part of living with a pet. If you have a problem with your pet shedding, don't get a pet. I wouldn't even use this for an occasional car ride, rather just cover the car and then do the cleaning instead of dress my pet into this. I don't even see how this would be good for helping with any medical conditions - a good vet will provide you with the right care and equipment for actual treatment.

I prefer a dog to look like a dog, au naturel :-) Shedding is not a problem if you really love your good boy or good girl!

I have an epic shedder, he's half golden retriever half spaniel. He's molting right now, big fluffy clumps of fur waft through the air when he walks by. Do I love this aspect? No. Would I make my dog miserable and shove him into an uncomfortable, straight jacket looking onesie to make life easier for me? Hell no. This is ridiculous.

I seriously do not get this....why adopt if you're bothered by shedding? Plus I am really not sure how healthy this is and how the furballs are supposed to regulate their temperature?!

I've considered getting a thunder shirt for my dog. He's 9 and seems to get worse and worse with noises as he ages. He tolerated the vacuum as a puppy but his runs to get on someone's lap (not easy at 50 lbs.) and we have weekly fireworks nearby :( and thunderstorms turn him into a puddle. But he's extremely smart and I guess one of my concerns is that he would start to associate putting on the thunder shirt with those sounds. Meaning, is it possible tf putting on the shirt would add to the stress by association, anyone know if this could happen? Right now we bury him under pillows and blankets and this fort and our proximity seems to help. Feel bad for anxious dogs like him. Also hate weekly fireworks as far as pollution, our local strip mall does them. Lots of dogs are stressed out by them.

Really weird...i doubt it is loved by animals... and if one have problems with shedding, then better forget to have animals! This is so stupid.

In have a huge furry shedding beast of a dog. Fur everywhere is a part of my life, but I would never subject him to one of these things. He really hates being brushed and groomed too, too bad doggo! He would be so mad at me if I ever tried this with him.

If people don't like the shedding of lovely furry animals TAKE some FISH as your house pet!

Even if I could manage to get my dog in this, there is no way I'd be able to undress him every time he had to poo. Also, I don't know whether he is going to poo or just pee when he goes out so this would just be a huge hassle. Is this sponsored content?

Yeah... the shedding thing is kind of ridiculous to me, and I doubt the anti-anxiety powers it claims to possess, however I'm intrigued to give it a try as an alternative to a cone... also how does it cool in the summer AND warm in the winter?

This is SO cute! It's a great compromise for people who want to dress their dog but want their dog to stay comfortable at the same time! I bet you can also iron-on designs and patches, which is nice too.

I don't think it's healthy for any pet to stay for a long time in those. It may be useful for post-operation and maybe to avoid an unwanted pregnancy as suggested (but in that case it would better to just cover the necessary area), pets have their own way of auto regulating their temperature and their skin needs transpiration, imagine being all day in a neoprene diving suit... It may be convenient for humans, but I doubt pets are feeling good in them. If you want to avoid hairs on the sofa or car, put a blanket on it.

Why does Bored Panda keep showing pet gimmick c**p that Amazon sells like the awful muzzles etc. If you have a problem with dog hair, don't have a dog and surely a dog will still scratch or chew something irritated even if wearing this rubbish or may want to harmlessly groom? Onesies are a human fad, not animal

We have a greyhound who got snapped at by another dog, which tore the skin on the back of her (very muscular) thigh. It was impossible to keep a bandage on it -- until we got one of these Shed Defenders. She didn't like it, but she wore it and it covered her bandages and the nasty wound completely, and was comfortable for her. She ended up having to wear it for about 2 months until the wound healed (and the subsequent three surgeries -- yes, just to fix a tiny nip in her skin, but it was in a terrible place!). I would never get one just to stop a dog shedding all over, but for the medical purposes we needed it for, it was truly a lifesaver. So I recommend it for that; it really made our life and our dog's life a lot easier!
