After you got that Green Lantern last Christmas, you thought your superhero lamp collection was complete. But you were wrong. Like a real Human Torch, Imgurian downtwobane has set the DIY community on fire with her spraypainted, Marvel Superhero lamp.
“My sister bought me some cheap Avengers playset at the Disney Store for my Birthday,” writes downtwobane. “I found a small lamp at the thrift store for $2.00 and super glued the figures to the lamp. Total cost to make the lamp was $15.00.”

Share on FacebookI admit I wouldn't have the courage to do this, but the result is great. It's like classic European sculpture decorated art, but with super heroes. Hence they used to sculpy mythological characters back then, so that kinda makes us simmilar too! This could be conceptual art as well.
You don't need a lot of courage to do that you know ;) It's actually pretty fast, you glue the things, you apply primer (very fast, in a spray can), then golden spray paint and you're done :)
Load More Replies...I have a feeling the frozen one would look pretty cool in white, non glossy, just matte :D Cool idea though! They look pretty!
You can also spray some "texture" (like the fake snow for the christmas tree) after the primer, and adding a coat of mate white, would be nice too ^^
Load More Replies...That is an awesome Idea..it looks so epic..But I can't seem to find such figurines here in India..:(
You can always order online :) Ebay, amazon.....
Load More Replies...Inspired by this post my wife and i built ourselves a lamp as-well. do let us know what yo think :) 14991348_1...741a93.jpg
i'm... tempted... As a comic nerd, I would never use new figures for this. Used action figures go pretty cheap, and even cheaper if the paint is scratched. this doesn't need in-tact paint, so...
If its a relatively clean Ceramic lamp you dont need primer. Heck you probably dont need primer on any type of lamp as long as you scrub it good.
Saw this on the MCM Comic con group on Facebook, this is an amazing creative use of a few models. I love it :)
These are so cool....and Olaf just adds to the majesticness (if that is even a word) to it!!! Super cool!!!
This is greaaat! I would definitely try this. I'm sorry for stealing your idea but I really want this in my bedroom.
Love when people share their "out of the box" ideas. I would have never thought of doing that, but it looks hella cool.
