I made this walnut and mahogany wedding ring box with hand tools in my garden shed. I wanted to challenge myself and so made the box with as many angles and with as much detail as I could! I’m currently a model making student, but am focusing on developing my skills in traditional woodwork and woodland management. I hope you like it, and if you’d like to learn how I made it (or find inspiration for creating your own ring box!) check out my blog through the link below.
The Box is made from 3.5mm walnut with brass detail and mahogany inlay
I first designed the piece in Rhino 3D and then used this model to create blueprints
The blue bottom is made from Resin 8’s Fill it Epoxy resin with mica powder. I love the contrast between the deep blue and brilliant gold of the rings!
