30 Adorable Cow Photos That Prove They Are Just Big Dogs
When you think of a man's best friend, a pet cow is probably not the first thing that pops into your mind! And that's a shame because these adorable cows are more similar to dogs than you think - and Bored Panda has made a compilation of photos to prove it!
Just like dogs, these cute cows love to cuddle; they give kisses, get curious, play with a ball, and enjoy good old back rub. And there's such a variety between them - from huge fluffy cows to tiny miniature cows; there's an adorable animal for everyone to love. And don't start us on the charms of baby cows!
We hope this will encourage you to see them as sensitive animals, which they are, and inspire a more ethical treatment of these magnificent creatures.

Just an FYI this is a veal calf - this calf is kept in it's tiny enclosure - it will never feel pasture grass under it's feet, it is fed only milk when it should be weaned and eating grains and grass - it will be slaughtered well before adolescence, while it is still young and at the beginning of its life, all for your dinner. There is nothing cute about veal.

Cows are wonderful animals. Such loving creatures. I want to find one to hug now.

You think that until you try and milk one that's in a bad mood and she smacks you in the face with her poop covered tail. Or - as on one memorable occasion, I went into a stall to check out a sore hoof, and she was so relieved when I picked up her foot (it was just a rock stuck in there) that she leaned her entire 1000 pounds plus on me.

I think I wont be able to eat beef after this post...They are so cute. I have seen cows before, but they would always run away from me when I tried to approach them.. :'(

Don't understand why some people mistreat cows, this list is a proof that they are really different from what they are usually described. Most people think that they are dumb and sometimes even dangerous animals. But in fact, great deal of them are kind and gentle souls and some people should really take a leaf out of their book.

Due to modern Lifestyles nowadays people are far from understanding simple things like the fact that real milk (without added preservatives) goes bad in the fridge in 2-3 days and also the fact that cows are quite intelligent. In the village with dozens homes and streets cow will always find it's way home when coming back from pasture, just like a dog!

I lived in a rented house on a dairy farm as a tween and cows are indeed very affectionate. They love having their heads scratched, but man those tongues are huge, long, slobbery, and not well controlled lol. They always wanted to lick me for some odd reason. As an adult i now plan to get a few as pets when possible. They are so sweet.

These are all so sweet until you realize that the owners and their children will sell or kill these beautiful animals for profit without a second thought. I wonder if cows feel betrayal?

My favourite thing about cows is that they have best friends and they become distressed if they're separated for too long

Cows' coats are very soft and their noses are moist. They are very sweet.

I love cows, they're very friendly even when they've never seen you before. I use to live in the country and our neighbour had pet cows who would mow their lawn and the cows often came right up to the fence and moo at me lol.

Does this poster actually not know what a calf is, or is it a spelling issue?

Well, they're not much like dogs... domestic animals will often cuddle with people! Horses are still my top ungulate.

Wonderful pics! But really, "a man's best friend"? Its 2020. Women and non-binary people exist.

Why would anyone in their right mind want to eat the flesh of these beautiful creatures?

Cattle. When you say cow you are speaking of the female. It's like talking about humans and saying women.

Can we not enjoy the beauty of an animal without turning it into a meat eater vs vegetarian/vegan argument? We can all still love the animal despite what we choose to eat.
Lisa Ní Chárthaigh 9 years ago
How can you love the animal and then eat it?? A bit twisted really.

Yeah, a real crisis if they have to shoot the livestock in stead of slaughtering them for food! Jikes!
