‘Creepy PMs’: 30 Screenshots Of The Weirdest Private Messages People Have Ever Received, Shared On This Online Group
A recent report from Pew Research Center has shown that roughly 4 in 10 of US adults have personally experienced online harassment. 75% of people, stated that the majority of abuse happens on social media, and 24% of the abused indicated that texting or messaging apps were where their most recent experience occurred.
Recently, Instagram has launched a new feature to filter abusive messages in DMs. Twitter has also revealed a new prompt that asks users to think twice before posting an abusive message. However, the problem of online harassment seems to have permeated all layers of our online presence, and these tools may reach just the tip of the problematic iceberg.
So in order to see what really happens in these dark pages of private messages where people are constantly made to feel really uncomfortable, the subreddit r/CreepyPMs has shed some light on things that end up in our inboxes.
“A place for people to share the strange and disturbing PMs they get from all over the internet,” says the group’s description and it’s honestly the part of the internet we all would be better off without.

Whenever I deal with an insecure douche like these ones, I always resort to 1) the fragile masculinity or 2) the underlying homophobia most men have. Something referencing them having a small dïck or implying they're interested in other guys instead of the female they're harassing or insulting. Works like a charm.

It's even scarier in real life. I had a college friend who I was interested in. We flirted a bit but I was a freshman and didn't want to get into anything serious, just books and conversation. We actually hung out on campus several times. And boom, he sent me an unsolicited d**k pic. I was so shocked that I cried. To make it worse, his face was in the pic with the creepiest grin. Avoided him after that entirely.

So I guess it works like this.... rando guy views female from afar, obtains digits in an underhanded way OR becomes unhealthily obsessed with her photo on social media, then up and sends her an unsolicited pic of his deformed, unsanitary penis. When this spooks/disgusts/repels/shocks or inadvertently amuses her, he flies into a rage and becomes menacing. If this keeps up, the birthrate will plummet to zero and all pregnancies will be from AI until they can synthesize semen and then they will dispense with males altogether or just keep a few in captivity to open pickle jars. Guys, you need to shame these jerks or you risk your gender's survival. Women shaming them doesn't seem to have much of an impact.
