Kid Gets Suspended For Fighting Back Against Bully And His Dad Has The Best “Punishment” For Him
We all love an underdog story, times when the little guy fights back, takes on the bully and emerges victorious. This is just one of those stories, however it has a twist.
Imgur user wolverineprostateexams recently posted the story of his little cousin, tormented by a bully at school for months until finally, he snapped. After being provoked and beaten one time too often, he turned the tables on the bully and gave him a lesson that he will never forget. Seems fair enough right? Or does it? Sure, violence is never the answer you might say, and sure, you’d probably be right. The school certainly thought so, and proceeded to give both the bully, and his victim, the same punishment for fighting, a three day suspension.
Is this just? Given that the bully had a proven track record of misbehaviour, and started the fight? That’s up to you to decide. The bullied boy’s family certainly didn’t think so, and decided to show their support for their son in the coolest way. Because sometimes it necessary to stand up for your principles and to show to a young boy that sometimes, in some circumstances, its OK to fight back.

Share on FacebookI was being bullied and nobody protected me. Everybody has the right to self-defense. It is f*****g time we do something against bullies. How many children have died because of them and how many will? If an adult bullies another one, there are legal comsequences, but children are without protection! Enough of that!!!!!
Bullying, in its purest sense, means that the child has received this attitude from things at home. Children must always be taught that if there is a bully at school, that they should tell their parents immediately, even IF they are also a victim, regardless of the "heroic" attempts here. Bully's are almost always from a home where things are not working right. Children learn from their parent's behaviour. IF mommy is smacking dad around, then the child learns that violence is a method of control... That will play out at school, Social methods in a home are the hard-wiring of a child in the years leading up to adolescence... That form is not easily changed. Dont forget the bully, something is broken there too, probably much worse than than the child being bullied.. Bullied kids get over it. Kids who are bullies, well... That another story, probably worse.
Load More Replies...The bully deserved to have his a$$ kicked. The parent of the kid getting bullied should hire an attorney and sue the school and the parents for standing by and allowing this to happen.
As the parent of the bully, I would be very embarrassed to have my kid recorded on video abusing another child that way. Sometimes we have to accept and face that not everything our children do is correct! Sometimes my daughter pushes o pulls their friends and viceversa while playing (she´s 5), and definitely that is not acceptable, so telling her what is right or wrong is my job. As they say in my country: "juego de manos es de villanos". It would be like: If hands play, it´s a villains´ game.
Carmen was saying IF her child was a bully and saying that her daughters behaviour is down to her, Carmen, to teach. English is her second language Diane, what's your excuse?! Try reading things properly before jumping in to show how a bully would react!!
Load More Replies...Once a parent demanded that the other student be charged w assault, after seeing video of their own daughter taunting, daring, shoving and punching. Sure, the police officer said, but if I charge the other kid w one count of assault for the strong slap, I'll have to charge your daughter w 3 counts for her prolonged attack.
This is so common and happened to myself all the way through secondary and high school. Spoke to teachers, nothing happened. Spoke to my parents and my dad said "just hit them back!" I couldn't do that as I wasn't a violent kid!! I left school at 16 and even through my exams i was bullied by 3-4 lads! Now though I'm a lot stronger, both physically and mentally. One of the bullies ended up playing 5-a-side football against me when i was 17. Before the game he threatened to break my legs! My first instinct was to reply "not before I break yours" but i didn't. He kicked and elbowed me the whole game. 2 mins away from the end i went straight through the back of him, i'd had enough. I stood over him as he was shocked I'd done it and just looked at him. He never said a word, just walked off the pitch. he waited for me after them game and went to shake my hand, the first thing he said was "I'm sorry". I then shook his hand and he explained why he'd done what he did. But i wont go into that.
I say the school should also be held with disciplinary action. They are at fault for not providing adequate supervision of the students they are responsible for while on campus. If my kid does something wrong in my neighborhood. The police will hold me responsible. Why would the school have to be responsible while they have my child? Also a kid should not be expected to sustain injuries due to aggressive behavior by other children not being monitored by adults.
What the actual f***? I mean, I'm affraid the principle doesn't have much choice because he probably could get sued by those a******s if the two fighter weren't punished. (Of course if he knew about the bullying, he's an a*****e, if he didn't he should ask himself some serious questions) But those parents! If one day I learn one of my kids bullied someone I would feel bad for the victime, I would feel guilty for failing my kid, I would seek to find what I did wrong in his/her education, I would punish him/her, I would make him/her apologize and repare his/her fault. Blaming the victime for trying to protect him(her)self... what's wrong with those people!
Now that's what I call a good parent and I agree with your statement
Load More Replies...The parents of the bully told them they would sue them if he approaches their crappy son ? Go on, just do it ! They have videos and probably enough witnesses. Let them sue you !
My father always taught us to stand up for ourselves..."Never let anyone push you around" he'd say and my sisters have passed that lesson on to their kids. My niece beat the c**p out of her bully. She was suspended but we all high fived her. I was so proud of that kid in that moment <3
I completely agree with everything this poor kids parents did. (except for agreeing to take him to an R-rated movie, that's a little overboard in my opinion)
My son was in a similar situation. The classrooms are small. I've told him to walk away. I've seen the rooms they are too small to walk away. One day the bully went too far. He repeatedly told my son "hit me, go ahead hit me " Obviously it was a figurative saying, but my son is a literal child. So he hit him. The entire school is equipped with audio and video. The boys were suspended for three days pending review and the teachers and other students were also interviewed. In the end it was found that my son was not the aggresor. His suspention was overturned to three days excused absences. We try to teach our children violence is not the answer. There are times a child has to stand up for themselves. There are children commiting suicide over being bullied. That's insane. The schools have a no bulling policy. It only works if they enforse it.
If this ever happens again, DON'T let the school handle it and make it go away. Call the police. This is assault, and it is NEVER acceptable behaviour. In this case, there was video of the bully starting the fight and since it is a pattern of behaviour, the police really should be involved. ... Before people start whining about the bully's "permanent record" and saying that it could affect him for life - forget it. I don't want to hear it. These parents CHOSE to do nothing about their son's behaviour, and they have forfeited their right to take care of things themselves.
I did the same thing with my son ( Catholic Elementary school). Told the principal that I forbade my son from throwing the first punch, but is fully authorized to take the second. She was appalled. He did it. We were lucky enough that the teachers were sick of it too. When the bully ran to the teacher with a bloody nose, she said, "I'm sorry--I didn't see it happen so I really can punish (my son)". She the winked at my son as she walked away.
If it was my kid and the bully started up with him again, I would get a restraining order against him AND his parents. This is being done increasingly as schools do NOTHING about bullying and the above story just proves it.
I remember when I had a nervous breakdown in the middle of class cause another guy was persistently bully. There was so much rage in me I was afraid of how far I would go. The Human Resources person in the school spoke to me afterwards and asked me why I didn't fight back. I told him I'd just get in trouble. He said not to worry about that and go for it. I gradually fought back against other a******s (without going postal) and got some confidence back.
Ok, on the one side, you bully somebody, somebody's eventually gonna call you on your s**t, and that's really quite a good thing, buuuuuut, if you then beat the guy up way more than necessary, then it might be a problem, but honestly, the guy who provoked him, by pushing, and kicking him like that, having done this repeatedly, really does deserve more of a punishment than the kid that got bored of taking s**t
As a parent and a teacher, I've seen bullies ignored, bullies' parents placated etc. It's stressful and time consuming to deal w a bully, get him/her directed to the counseling/other help they need. So many administrators hope that telling the bully to stop it and telling the teachers to change seating assignments will fix the problem, so they don't have to do hard stuff, like deal w issues. As a teacher I document document document, intervene, redirect/distract bully, offer support to the target, notify proper personnel.
Three failure points: The bully, the parents of the bully and the Principal. The kid was right to fight back since the school would obviously not protect him. The real shame here is the School Principal; whom is obviously too afraid to address the issue with any objectivity. Instead, retreats into a neutral position with the hope of appeasing the parents of the bully and not have to deal with them any further. Fairness in this case would be to suspend the bully and require him to attend some mandatory counseling. However, so many people like this Principal are not capable of making fair decisions, since taking a side—even when just—is often an uncomfortable commitment. What's needed is to remove people like this Principal from positions of influence.
Schools do nothing about bullying these days. All the teachers really do is tell people not to do it one time, say they'll resolve any problems, and then do nothing about it. People need to know c that bullying is a serious people that can drive people to things like injury, insanity, depression, or even suicide! If I were the principal, I would've rewarded the kid for being brave enough to stand up for himself! If the bully's parents haven't already beat some sense into that kid, I'll gladly do so.
Unfortunately to some degree principles have their hands tied. They have to suspend if they find proof a rule was broken that requires that punishment. For example: I had a Bee Bee gun in the back of my parents van from a weekend trip to my grandparents house. I didn't know it was there and a kid found it and shot it off injuring another kid in the van while transporting them between schools. I was to be expelled and it took the school board to over turn it. My Band Director was a really cool guy and help make that happen for me. Basically it was the schools fault for making the kids use their cars to help get the current years band members to and from the field we practiced on.
Load More Replies...I put up with being bullied by a girl for half the school year, till I finally lost it and punched her in the school playground. when she went crying to the teachers, she got told "we've been watching you - about time someone stood up to you". (that was a long time ago - I'll be sixty this year)
Interesting.... and when kids take an AR-15 into schools and starting blasting away their peers, let's just continue to blame it on the lack of gun regulations and ignore how heartless children can be and the parents that do nothing about it.
A bullied child with no access to a gun is not likely to kill 17 other people in a few minutes, and he's also less likely to commit suicide, because any other means of doing it will be more difficult / longer to orchestrate. Bullying is a huge problem. But the guns make its consequences a thousand times worse.
Load More Replies...Two wrongs don't make a right but two hits make a fight.
Load More Replies...The parents are the bigger problem, almost as much as a school system that punishes students who defend themselves. Bullies should be suspended for a LONG time, transferred to another school at least 10-miles away and the defending student should be given a medal.
I agree. I remember being in 3rd grade and another girl was getting bullied by the kid next to her. He kept stabbing her with his scissors! She complained multiple times to the teacher and asked to move, and the teacher told her to "deal with it herself." So she did, and the next time he stabbed her, she shoved him off his chair. Did he get in trouble? Nope. But she got a detention. All the kids saw the injustice of it all, why couldn't the adults?
My friend was being punched in the hallway by a bully. He kept saying "I don't want to fight you, stop," but the guy kept going. Both were suspended even though my friend did nothing...
Never too early to teach your child that sometimes adult *authority* figures are a******s and are wrong and you won't get treated fairly by them....
Nobody protected my kids, either. Now they're homeschooled because the system failed them both academically and in providing security.
Aww :( Kudos to you to making sure they don't suffer again! Children should be happy in their school environment.
Load More Replies...My daughter was always smaller than the other kids in her class when she was in kindergarten. There was one little boy who repeatedly picked on her, from hair pulling to pushing her down on the play ground. I spoke to the recess monitor (repeatedly), I spoke to her teacher and finally went to the principal. These a******s actually thought it was "cute" that this little prick had such a crush on my daughter. I gave her permission to defend herself and the next time he tried to hit her, she dropped him with a well placed kick to the nuts. I had saved copies of every note I sent the school as well as all emails between the principal & myself - going back almost 6 months. Hell no she didn't get suspended. He didn't receive any punishment either, but he stayed well away from her after that. What are parents supposed to do when the system fails a child? I suppose I could have beaten up HIS Mom, but jail has never really appealed to me.
I got bullied in middle school. This one guy used to think I was a personal punching bag and I got sick of it. One time when he punched me I turned and sent a kick right into him. The teacher saw both, and I got off scott free. Told the boy if she ever saw him lay a hand on me again that he would be taken to the principal. He left me alone after that.
American schools really are a disgrace when it comes to bullying; especially when it's just plain assault. There was even a video - why didn't you give the victim three days if fun and a law suit for the bullying little bastard? The schools are s**t at dealing with this, so why don't you parents take action?
There is only one way to deal with schools who think he victims are the perpetrators when fighting back, and that is to charge the responsible at the school for child endangerment by knowingly looking the other way when they know there is a problem, as well as taking legal action against all involved. Never accept institutionalized approval of and protection of bullying.
Civil Lawsuit against school & Principal. Probably won;t win but the publicity will be fun.
My son's wrist got broken by bullies who had years of treating him badly under their belts. The school knew and "punished" them regularly but not really. When his wrist got broken, because the kids were in grade 8 and it was Feb... the school decided instead of expelling them just to let them finish their school year because that would be easier. I basically homeschooled my son for the remainder of the year so he didn't have to go back and deal with them - he was only in gr 7 at the time. I don't know why bullies get off so easy. My son is still emotionally and physically scarred from this, 3 years later. His wrist will never function the same.
this should be taken more seriously, here in New Zealand we have anti-bulling teams that go to schools. I have been o my granddaughters schools twice as both were been bullylied by boys, soon put a stop to it. it is not one and is causing so much pain to families and suicide is on he rise through it. our anti-bullying teams a doing a great job and go to schools and groups
I was badly bullied when small and everyone used to say it's just kids being kids!!!: a load of rubbish I say .They knew they were deliberately going out to get me every playground interval.i was not allowed to fight back I was told.To me the answer is easy and I've taught my daughter the same.iff your attackers want to target you and they are hurting you....kick the living daylights put of them starting with the ringleader. Iff you have No PROTECTION from the education THEN YOU MUST FIGHT BACK. STUFF THEIR PATHETIC RULES.I would love to see their kid getting hammered an THEM saying "ohhh punish the victim".if parents bring up their kids not caring about hurting others then ALL THE VICTIMS need protecting or need to use self defence. There should be none of the rules that say " punish the victim of abuse an suspend them" this is truly pathetic.weak and damaging to the child as WHO THE HELL IS DEFENDING AN LOOKING AFTER THEM.SCHOOLS MAKE ME SICK.I hate schools and I loathe Authorities
One of the reasons why a lot of bullies are getting away with it is because the teachers and their parents are not even punishing them enough for their bad behaviour. Shame.
I used to be bullied every day, one day I got pissed of and knocked the bully out, never have been bullied again and I’m a legend at my elementary school.
(Edit) I’m also a legend at the high school which I’m not even in high school yet lol
Load More Replies...Schools are overly careful and suspend all students because of idiotic parents putting unreasonable demands on them. Punish one kid and not the other and the Dursley's will sue the school. Unjustly, but it still costs the school money
I'm not interested if the school gets c**p honestly .They have a duty to protect our kids being bullied .That should NOT MEAN punishing the victim Full stop
Load More Replies...My junior high school was a nightmare for the misfit kids. One day a kid named Vernon snapped and beat the holy hell out of this jerky kid named Josh. I mean BEAT him, like, send him to the hospital kind of beating. It didn't help Josh that all us misfit kids formed a perimeter around the fight and wouldn't let teachers in to break it up. Anyway, Vern got three days, and a bunch of us chipped in to buy him a new hat. Josh came back after two weeks and mostly kept to himself after that.
Good on him for standing up for himself. The school should of been protecting him but as normal that doesn't happen. I have a thirteen year old daughter who I've spoken to regarding bullying and people annoying her and told her that she mustn't stand for it and give them at least three verbal warnings before she counter attacks. It's upsetting that these children don't get the support they need and it's so hard for them. When I was at school, bullying mostly stayed inside the school gates but the kids are tormented every minute now there is social media. I say well done to the child for standing up for themselves and the parents for standing by there child.
I was being bullied on the bus and fought back got me a week of suspension, kicked off the bus for the rest of the year, an assault charge and had to go to court over it I wasn’t even allowed to know if the bully got into trouble but he was able to go to my court hearing
My high school bully punched my special needs brother in the face. A dozen student wintesses, and a teacher who, despite being less than 20 feet away saw and heard nothing, until i used my backpack loaded with textbooks as a makeshift ball and chain. I was suspended for 3 weeks, he was suspended for 3 days. I got back, and he threatened me with a knife, in the school lobby. they waited a week to search his locker, and of course, found no knife. I was suspended for 3 days for 'lying'. Then another student committed suicide, and in the middle of the schools 'moment oif silence' he started laughing and calling the kid who took his own life (because of said bully's torment) a coward, a weakling, and a 'pansy a*s f****t'. He was never punished. Until Karma came for him. He was riding on the tailgate of a pick up truck, drunk as a skunk, tailgate broke off. He broke his neck and died. And people talked about how kind and helpful he was. His death was cosmic justice.
I was being bullied in class and loudly told them to F Off. Got detention for swearing :(
I HATE the way schools treat bullying nowadays. They keep saying "bullying is unacceptable", but when I tell my teacher that kids are telling me to kill myself, he says "suck it up". And when I defend myself from bullies, who gets in trouble? That's right. Me. And the bullies get away scot free. F$&@ you, school system.
My son was bullied for months as well back in the seventies, taking it and taking it during this time period. Until on day he lost it and pushed the other kid who smacked his head against the side of the school. Thankfully a teacher had seen the incident and intervened. She made comments to the bully and made him shake hands with my son and then took him to see the nurse. After that the two of them became best friends. Go figure. But I think because the teacher spoke to the bully and made him shake hands with my son and made him apologize did the trick. If a bully and his parents are never made to accept the fact that their son or daughter are bullies, said bully will grow up and will continue the same behavior. I think teachers who know and condone the bullying should be suspended for three days without pay. As well the school should be held responsible for the bullying especially if the parents have made it known that the bullying is going on.
One time this b*tch girl used the fact that the kid's parents were divorced as some sort of leverage or something and he snapped and knocked her stuff off her desk. She faked bursting into tears and ran out of the room and later in the day I see her being 'consoled' by all the other girls. I swear to god she got off scot-free while he got a detention for "harassing her with unnecessary intent". Oh, and there was a sub in that and I guarantee she would not have done it in front of the teacher who knows most of us decently well.
I'm glad the kid stood up for himself and such but why the heck did the bully not get extra time if it was going all the way back to the beginning of the school year. My sister and someone got into a major fight when they were thirteen, off campus, the school found out and suspended my sister because the girl followed her home and wouldn't leave without a fight. Said girl threw the first punch and my sister defended herself. She only went outside because the girl was screaming at our mother. They had much proof that the girl bullied my sister and many people had the same story that it was happening all year. My sister got 3 days suspension and the girl got 1 day even though she started the fight. My mother then proceeded to take us to Six flags those 3 days as vacation to celebrate my sister standing for herself. BTW this was all caught on camera and we had pictures of my sister with a busted up face previous to this incident and showed them to the school and the school did nothing.
I was always told growing up to never start a fight but don't ever walk away from one. Nothing better than to watch a bully get his a*s handed to him. 🖒🖒🖒
My son was in the same situation and I told him to stand up for himself and we would back his actions 100%. Sure enough the bully taunted him and he punched the kid right in the nose, bully went down. We got called into Principle office and they tried to say my son was totally at fault and we brought to their atttention that we reported the bully to them three times within that year and they didn't do anything about it and I said I was proud of his actions and he was not going to punish him in anyway and if it continued he will defend himself again. We high fived each other and went to Disneyland for two days. This happened in four grade and it might be an old school method of handling the sit uation but when a bully gets his a*s kicked they tend not to pick on that person anymore such was the case with my son and other would be bullies noticed too, he was never bothered again in grammar school.
Well, I will sue the school. The principle separately and the school board for promoting a violent environment. I would tell them that I intend to pursue discovery to the extent that I find a repeated line of action or in action, I will, contact the parents that their lack of duty to properly train and supervise their employees or their policy discriminates against the victims by not reporting actionable complaints in order to preserve their grants from the Federal Government; said activity represents a criminal enterprise and will be approached as a Civil RICO action under 42 USC Section 1983. I will then inform all such individuals who in the past have been victims of the schools lack of due diligence and ask that they become to a class action suit while pursuing an individual tort on all identified actors in their individual capacity. My daughter called me a ruthless MF! I agree... you screw with my children, my grand children or my family I will make them cry like a child.
Wait. Being suspended...as in having a legit excuse not to go to school...is a punishment?o.O ...if we had that here we'd have the whole school fight all day, every day on the rare occasions they'd actually be "allowed" to come to classes XD
My son was getting repeatedly bullied and one day had had enough. He was taking Tai Kwan Doe and the next time the kid attacked him he just side kicked the c**p out of him. I took him out for icecream.
When I was grade six a gang of boys (4-5) pushed me to the ground and covered me in mud. I got up and grabbed a baseball bat and went crazy on their a*s... They were going to suspend me and let the boys off free... until my parents asked me what happend, which no one did. Not one person was curious as to why I was covered head to toe in muk, more concerned about the boys I f****d up with a bat....
Brother got suspended after a bully tried to beat him up at school. told him he didn't need advice from a 'poor dirty Indian'. This was in Canada. The bully later tried to beat him up during recess and and the bully got a week suspension and my brother got 3 days. My parents had a chat and dad basically said 'next time just let him hit you, there's no other way'. Sounded ridiculous to all of us. This coming from my dad who defended himself against cast-ist bullies for YEARS. Thanks schools for teaching kids that justice is NON-EXISTENT! Better they learn it in school than in the real world right? This way they can grow up to be adults who have no faith in the justice system.
I had a teacher once tell my mom that I was egging them on when really I was just defending myself. I had done the "just stay silent and ignore it" thing for years and it wasn't working
Such wonderful parents! I was bullied for years during my time at school. Responses from my parents: "Why don't you fight back?" Hard to do if you didn't see who pushed you & made you fall down the stairs. "Why don't you go to a teacher?" The bullies were experts at manipulation, tormenting kids behind oblivious teacher's backs. Of course, if you retaliated, you'd get in trouble. When they did get caught, the punishments were pathetic. Not once was any of them suspended, let alone expelled - despite doing s**t that would get an adult sent to prison. I got beaten up by three guys on the last day of primary school. Two of them grabbed my arms so the other guy could beat me. After getting punched in the gut, I fought back & kicked him in the balls. This pissed him off, so he karate-chopped my leg & snapped my cruciate ligament. (It sounded like a crushed plastic drink bottle). Police complaint made. Nothing done. WTF!? Two 'witnesses' vs one victim's statement equals no charges.
When I was a kid, got bullied from first grade to third grade. I got tired so I took Taekwondo lessons, grew muscles and that was it. Was suspended a couple of times for smashing bullies heads against concrete wall. Yes I am an a*****e and I hate bullies.
Same happened to my son only the boy jumped him in the lunch room. The boy was 19 from alternative learning with a record. My son was 16. The school wanted to suspend my son and not the other boy. Told the school our son has a no tollerance rule also and would let the DA take it from there. End of story - no suspension for our son. We had taught our son self defense and the 19 year old didn't do well in the fight even though he used brass nuckles.
When I was a kid (in the late 70s) I got bullied mercilessly by a lot of other students, I was the scapegoat in a very tiny school in a very small town. One day a teacher decided to join the bullies in picking on me because the bullies were on the sports team he coached. I got up and told the class that someday they'd be sorry, and walked out and to the principal's office. The principal saw me after a little while, all grim and concerned and borderline freaked out. He sat me down and was all careful and gentle and edgy, asked me if I had said that to the class. I said yes. He said he was worried that I meant to harm myself. I stared at him for a second and then said no, I meant that I would make THEM sorry, why would I hurt myself? I wasn't the one doing anything wrong. That principal *laughed*, he was so relieved that I "only" meant it as a threat to other students and not a suicide threat. After that the bullying continued as before with no staff interference. Ah, the good old days.
I spent at least one day a week in detention for the entirety of my elementary and middle school years. There was a bully who was utterly focused on me. As a Christian (I'm not one anymore) I was taught to turn the other cheek, so I never fought back. Nevertheless, the schools held to a policy of equal fault, and every time he beat me up, we would both sit in detention together.
That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard!! I feel like screaming, I really do!!
Load More Replies...My daughter was in 4th grade last year and was getting bullied a little, nothing over the top. But I told her, stand up for herself. We already told the teacher and principal and nothing was done. I said, if they touch you in anyway, you punch them right in the face. Don't stop punching until someone pulls you off. Thank God it didn't come to that, the main instigator moved, but I also would have celebrated her suspension.
In my opinion the same logic should be applied here as is applied to "disciplining" your kids by hitting them. Would you try to get an adult to do as you wish by hitting them? No. Do adults have a right to self defense? Yes. People who say violence never solves anything probably never faced violence directed at them. If you're constantly being beaten, self defense IS the answer. In the case of school bullying a better answer would obviously be the adults doing their job and caring that bullying is happening, but that is often not the case. So many teachers witness bullying in their classrooms on daily basis and choose to close their eyes to it.
my teachers loved me because i didn't cause trouble in class and was respectful towards them and people in general. very rare qualities in my school. so when being bullied, i would rarely get in trouble, but then neither would any of the bullies though. but it was satisfying, at least to have the teacher literally pat me on the back after i backhanded a guy for sexual assault and knocked him to the floor
It's always the same, bullies get away with it and the kid that defends themselves gets punished. Doesn't make sense
I was bullied almost every school year by different kids even into high school and had was told to "handle it myself" so I learned how to get back at them sort of passive aggressively I suppose you'd call it. I did little things to them that they didn't suspect I was doing. Like what the girl in the movie "Amelie" did to her landlord. If you haven't seen the movie, you should watch it and you'll see what I mean.
The problem with institutions like schools, is that the adults, the staff assume that bullying is a natural consequence of young children mingling with different age groups on school property, so they fail to act. That is a dereliction of duty. When their own children are bullied, they become very vocal, but it does not seem to be common across the board. It also opens them up to litigation, and if more parents go the legal route, there might be a more robust response. And the question of the use of violence is a moot point, because everyone is entitled to defend himself/herself against aggressive behaviour.
I applaud the parent!!! Bullying should never happen but when it does and management does nothing to stop it....then it is time for a beat down!!! And if you get suspended....go enjoy your days off!!!
Geez, that last comment. o.o Anyways, not sure about physical, but I deal with a lot of s****y people, kids and teachers alike... and my family never helped with s**t either, they usuallt made things worse even... By middle school I was already suicidal at times... I only did enough to pass and sometimes considered a good stufent though sometimes I'd also skip because I didn't wan to deal with people and work... Sometimes when I tried to do my honework I'd just be tired and get thos big headache... I'd often take a break then do homework then relax again though. Um, not sure where to go with this actually but yeah. :(
Good for the boy that was being bullied, hope he had a great time. The other boy's parent are a disgrace so no wonder he's a bully, maybe they could have done with a good thumping.
Good on the non bully's parents! Shame on everyone else involved! Why are schools so idiotic about punishments?
I think the leisure days are fair. Had a similar issue w my son in second grade when a habitual bully shoved my son into a fence and the adult monitoring the students during recess not only watched it happen but tried to throw my son under the bus. She forgot the playground has CC TV. Not today, @$$#!=*.
When I was in school, about 7th grade or so, any bully who got suspended just considered the suspension as 'time off' from school. Like a holiday. They got to sleep in late, eat whatever they wanted, watch tv, goof off, play video games all day....... it was certainly NOT punishment. I'm sure these days, it's even less so, with the advances in technology we have--- and the Internet. There is PLENTY of fun to be had when you don't have to go to school! Suspension is NOT punishment, IMO. It's a free day to do whatever the hell you want, because usually, both parents are at work anyways. What's better than a free day from school? A FREE DAY WITH NO PARENTAL SUPERVISION! What's better than that? THREE DAYS OF IT!!!!
This reminds me of the scene from spn when young Sammy kicked the bully's a*s
Kinda hard to tell your kids that bullying is wrong when we have narcissistic national leaders who brag about their bullish behavior.
It has been proven time and time again that the school administrations do not, in far too many cases, handle those situations properly. Case in point: a child fought back when he was *literally* being assaulted, and the school's decision was to punish him, which is going to send the CLEAR message that acting against bullies is going to get kids in trouble. No child should be taught to take abuse.
Load More Replies...I was being bullied and nobody protected me.
