    That's nonsense. Pumpkins came to Europe from the Americas when the Spanish brought them here (I live in Europe). The American natives have always eaten pumpkins and the like..

    It's true - in Britain "pretty" vegetables have been used as exotic garden plants for years. Broccoli, some types of cabbages, lettuces, rainbow chard, for example, have all been used as ornamental plants.

    This is not correct. The italian name "Melanzana" can be divided in two parts: "mela" "apple", it means it is a fruit; and "malsana" "unhealthy", which indicates the fact that you cannot eat this fruit whitout cooking it first. So, no madness, just stomachache.
