This reminds me of one of my favourite stories from Jorge Bucay. In short: there is a man, who comes to a cemetary. The dates on the gravestones suggest, that here only children lie. But another man tells him, that the people in that village believe, that only time spend happy is real lifetime. They write it down on little books carried around the neck.
