Hey Pandas, What's A Hobby That You Enjoy Doing?
I really enjoy running, and I run on the high school cross country team. I absolutely love it because it has improved my mental and physical health, as well as improving myself as a person - cross country (and all sports) develops character, teaching you life skills you couldn't learn anywhere else. I have been blessed with a team that is supportive, encouraging, positive. We work together, we hurt together, we race together, we win together, we lose together... Some "teams" aren't really teams - full of jealousy, toxicity, rivalry, competition for varsity... Don't get me wrong: competition is a good thing for the whole team working harder, individually and interdependently, but when a teammate cares more for getting in varsity and being better than others than actually collectively winning and working together - that's the fine line between a "team" and "not a team." Anyways, I love running and I'm a better person for it. (Also, if it's not obvious enough, I love writing, and I love talking.)
Drive Through ATM
Drive through ATM. Very friendly people. How very obese so many Americans were. Water fountains in every public place. Heating system in every house. I was amazed by so many trees along the highways. Still am
Return Policy
My wife is from the Philippines and also worked in Singapore for over 10 years. When she came here she had many surprises but one big one was the ability to return items that she had purchased. She had never been able to do that before.
The Treatment Of Veterans
The treatment of veterans. A lot of communication around the respect they deserve. Yet many of them are broke, homeless and in a generally bad position.
The Importance Of The College/University You Go To
The importance of the College/University you go to. For me it felt like the name, you can even call it brand, of the College is more important than your actual skills and knowledge as well as the quality of education you receive. So many times, people asked me which College/University I visit and told me about their College and the College their childrens are visiting. Totally different than what I am used to in Germany, where it is mainly focused on your skills and grades not the College/University your are visiting.
Everything Is Huge
Everything being f**king huge. Literally. Road lanes, groceries, soda sizes. Especially distances: where i come from, 3 hours of driving are enough to cross half of the country, in the US it's just a small drive to go to see a relative or something.Show All 30 Upvotes

Hey Pandas, What Moment In Your Life Changed The Way You Think?
I used to cashier and was often way more honest than I should have been for working in customer service. Someone asked me how my day was going and I said “I’m considering abandoning ship.” It was during the worst time in my life and I was thinking of packing my bags and moving back across the country to where I grew up. The customer responded: Don’t abandon the ship. Sail a different sea. Completely changed how I look at situations and life as a whole. I wish I could thank him. I’m now a first-year high school English teacher which has been my dream since I was 11. I’m 33.This Panda hasn't followed anyone yet
