I didn't write that phrase. I wrote something else to the effect of don't expect anyone in that town to respect your rights if you're black" someone at bored panda edited my words.

Ok. Read some comments so let me clarify that yes a lot of you are correct in that this shouldn't have been so complicated. At the end of the day I was the one with tangible proof of ownership. The other person used my race to steal from me. Let me elaborate on that. This person concocted a lie using the premise of "this black person is trying to scam me" knowing that no such thing was taking place. After everything with court was done this person even went on to accuse me of check fraud and a*****t before even checking to see how the court case went. They back tracked and deleted the slanderous post after realizing they had lost. The reason I "helped them after seeing the truth" was because I wanted it to be over as soon as possible. Yes I should have driven to the police station or the hospital but I just wanted to get the person paid and the paper work signed. They decided to lie because they thought they knew the police would believe a non black person over everything.
