My Comics Based On The Tragic Story Of A Girl Who Can No Longer Be A Bride Because This Person Didn’t Drive Safely

All I want to say is, just love when you can, because you can never tell the future.

Here I would like to share a sad and heartbreaking story about a young girl who can no longer be a bride.

I hope you will enjoy it!

Today was supposed to be the best day of my life. Today was supposed to be the day I married my best friend.

I was supposed to wake up, put on my wedding dress and walk down the aisle to the man of my dreams.

Today, in front of all of our family and friends Randy and I were going to express our love for each other once again, and our vows that we would hold sacred to our hearts.

Today was supposed to be the day I have dreamt about since I was a little girl. Today I was supposed to become a wife. Today I was supposed to become Mrs. Zimmerman.

…but today I woke up alone as I do every day. Today I woke up with my heart broken all over again.

Today my daddy will not walk me down the aisle.

Today I will not get to see the look on Randy’s face at the end of that aisle when he gets his first look at me in my wedding dress, the dress I had to hide from him because he couldn’t wait to see it.

Today I will not see all of our friends and family. Today I will not marry the love of my life. Today I will not have a husband…

…and that is because a person made a choice that has forever changed my life, a choice to NOT stop at a stop sign, to NOT stop when he saw my fiance coming toward him on his motorcycle, but instead tried to hurry across the street.

Please, I beg each and every one of you that reads this post, WATCH FOR MOTORCYCLES, stop at stop signs and drive with care because you never know whose whole world is on that bike. Maybe if that person stopped, I’d be marrying my Randy, my best friend, the love of my life. I love you, Randy Z Zimmerman. Forever and always, we promised!

I feel you. I lost my first big love in a car accident. He drove home late at night and the truck that pulled off the acceleration lane in front of him didn't have its lights on. He died before the ambulance got there. It's almost impossible to describe the intense pain I went through. I was so heartbroken, I never fully recovered from it. It happened over 10 years ago and until this day I still can't feel as much love and joy as I could before this happened. I'm not unhappy. My life is good and I even had the luck to find my soulmate. I just feel like something inside me broke back then that is impossible to heal/repair.

Rit I just needed to respond and tell you I'm sorry about what happened and also, I know exactly how it feels. My first love (met at sweet 16) was killed in a car crash when I was almost 20, three months pregnant and waiting for him in another country. For years I felt angry, empty and robbed. Twenty-one years later I have, like you, met my soulmate and I'm happy and loved. I'm not totally over it but the good news is the gaping, bleeding open emotional wound has become a well-loved bruise....it gets better x

I almost lost my aunt and uncle in a motorcycle accident. The oncoming car didn't see them behind the car they were following and turned so that they ran right into the car. My uncle almost lost his right leg because it's what took the back bumper off that car. My aunt landed on her head (neither were wearing helmets, stupid!) and had to have her skull put back together. She wouldn't have made it if this hadn't happened right in front of a group of off duty first responders. (Blessings!) It's been a year and a half and she still hasn't full recovered her personality and at this point she likely never will. 1) WEAR A HELMET!!!! (They were idiots on that point. Can't fault anyone but them.) 2) Watch for motorcycles! Be patient and look behind oncoming traffic before you turn.

I lost my best friend and potential future husband to a roll over accident. He and two friends were headed to a University 350 miles away from home to check out the campus. He worked a full shift the night before and was tired. He fell asleep behind the wheel and was not aware that he had flown of the freeway doing nearly 60 miles per hour. The result, he died instantly, his front passenger died instantly and a mutual friend in the back seat was thrown through the rear window and was forever paralyzed from the waist down. While some people cause accidents due to drinking, impatience or reckless behavior, keep in mind that not getting enough sleep before getting behind the wheel can be deadly too. Cars are moving battering rams...treat them and the others that drive with respect.

She had asked me if we could go to the skating ring where her dad would be. So we went; and when we got their we skated, no biggie. But then she had to leave. But we talked on my moms phone: face time. While she was in the car she dropped her phone and I heard her SCREAM. I went and told my mom, and asked if she was alright many times. But no. Nothing happened, until 7:28 P.M. ....She wasn't alive. So, yah. I mourned and mourned. But it gets better with time!

To all the good drivers out there : Congratulations, you have the talent and the experience to control a vehicle the right way ! This, unfortunately for you, leads to a greater level of responsibility on the road compared with the average driver, rather than a pass to drive faster than them. Avoiding someone else's close call saving your and their lives is the real showoff if you ask me, and it gets immensely easier at moderate speed. Drive slow and think quick

There is no reason or exolenatikn for this the way it ended. I am so sorry. But sharing this brings a lot of healing to many who are embarrassed to share. They think they are cursed or meant to be alone. Love is. Unconditional and has no time or limits. Society dictated that it ends at death.... It doesn't and never will. That's true love. Traffic accidents, people just don't pay enough attention to them. We think of traffic accidents as something that will never happen to us. For that thinking, some of us drive carelessly. ONLY until we, or our love ones get accident, then we know how sad, heart-breaking and terrible traffic accidents are. Not only for us, but for other people as well. Most of the time, we were so ignorant. 8 years ago, I was a young man, got my first motorbike and got so excited. At 18, I rode fast, carelessly, thinking it was cool. Then an accident happened. I fell down the road. Even though I wore a helmet, my face was so close to the cement block on the road side. Yes, luck was on my side. And I also knew that next time, I wouldn't be that lucky. I got a lesson of my life.

Moral of story, don't ride motorcycles. Why would you ride something that has no seat belts, no crumble zones in case of contact, no air bags, no safety at all.

Jason Hawes
Community Member

Not only is that victim blaming, its skirting the real issue and is simply unrealistic. Motorcycles can be safe and not every car (I'm thinking those tiny two seaters) and crumple zones, etc. You're wrong to say stop riding cycles. More appropriate would be to say be aware of those around you on the road, obey the freaking laws, and stop being so damned impatient in your vehicle that you risk your life and the lives of others. I drive professionally and the amount of stupid, dangerous crap I see automobile drivers do every single day because they're too impatient is astounding and frightening.

I'm not sure if we should all automatically believe this story, just because it's written in such an emotional way, we've only heard one side of the story. Perhaps if the car driver could write back, he would give us a different side of what happened. I am one who, a long time ago, did NOT stop at a Stop sign, not by choice, as the comic strip implies, but because I was in an area I did not know well and did not notice it (and I was a much newer driver then). Thankfully, I did not hurt anyone. I've also needed stitches once because someone else didn't stop at a Stop sign and, although it was stupid of them, it was an accident. Most people don't make a choice to disregard Stop signs, unless you consider not being careful enough a choice.

Jason Hawes
Community Member

You obviously don't drive near where I live. It's rare someone stops properly at a stop sign. Most roll the stop, if they even pause. In reality, it's very common and it's preventable. You say you ran a stop sign because you didn't know the area--you should have been aware of your surroundings and looking for traffic control signs so that's really no excuse. I drive all the time on streets I'm unfamiliar with for my job. It's your job as a driver to be aware and follow the law.

Most accidents involving a bike and a car are usually at the fault of the car driver, not the biker. As a biker I'm more cautious of other people.

Inconsiderate and ignorant people like you are the reason the roads are unsafe for motorcycle riders like myself. Bikes have just as much of a right to be on roads as any other vehicle. Bikers are also usually better, more attentive motorists. Watch out for bikes before you take a life, you arrogant turd.

It works both ways. Motorcycle riders should ALSO look out. Very often they are the ones who are reckless.

Most accidents involving a bike and a car are usually at the fault of the car driver, not the biker. As a biker I'm more cautious of other people.

Motorcycles are dangerous and it is nobody's fault but the motorcyclist. Loser
