I Escaped My Gray Modern Metropolis To Capture The Awesome Colors Of Marrakech

From the live blue in Majorelle Gardens to the red walls of the Medina, it is easy to understand why Yves Saint Laurent fell in love with this city. Known as The Red City, if you look closer to the Souk’s tapestries, blankets, fabrics, tiles and spices you’ll find a much more diverse range of colors within this place.

While first impressions show Marrakech as a chaotic universe, I did not take long to fancy the town’s narrow streets and take some pictures for my Instagram account @anaputka. Marrakech is the right place for travelers interested in escaping from the gray landscape of a modern metropolis into a colorful world.

Beautiful. I find it amazing the architectural style of Morocco and islamic countries in general. I really loved how the composition in your pictures convey with the highly mathematical and symmetrical visual of the buildings and ornaments. If you pay close attention you can notice that even their writing have an structured, symmetrical form behind it.

Thanks! The city has a very interesting architectural mixture from north african towns, european style boulevards, berber and islamic related buildings. I guess this contributes to making Marrakech a vibrant and interesting place to capture the chaotic atmosphere in an unusual perspective as you said (symmetrical and structured).
