Someone Shares Pic Of Their Cat Hiding From The Vet, The Internet Responds With Their Own Hilarious Pics
It’s no news that silly cats live by their own rules and follow their own logic and as comfortable as we are in knowing this truth, kitty cats are still capable of surprising us with their life choices. One such occasion occurred recently when writer Ashley Perez took her cat named James to a vet clinic. James was not ready to suck it up and endure the poking and probing about to ensue, so instead of wasting his energy whining and clawing, he decided it would be best to hide. And hide he did. Although the idea seemed great at the time, the silly cat approached it in an ostrich-like manner, sticking his head into a hole, imagining that the rest of his body turned invisible. Well, this weird cat logic might seem quite off to us, but hey, in the feline universe James is probably sporting superior hiding abilities.
Before condemning James of being rather stupid and gluing a funny cat tag on him, remember that a visit to a pet clinic compares to a dentist’s appointment, and most of us would gladly hide too. My vet is a genius, my cat hates going as I think most all do and he snarls and hisses. He is the sort of fella that will bite you if you are not a close family member, She just goes and gets a box and sprays some hormone spray in there and he climbs in and closes his eyes and purrs, while still occasionally giving a half hearted hiss, he's like "this is awesome but I still hate you, dont forget that". She examines him and he dosent even budge, its amazing.

Every cat I've had reacts differently at the vet. Dickens would sit perfectly still and just shed copiously, creating hair cloud defense system for about two feet around him. Shasta, the friendliest cat I've ever seen, jumps excitedly on everything and greets the vet enthusiastically. Frost Claw - my gentle, giant teddy-bear - goes to the vet in a cloth bag because when he was a tiny kitten he was afraid of the crate and the bag was what he needed to feel comfortable. He still goes in the bag even though he doesn't really fit any more, and he cuddles up against me, burying his head just up to his eyes, and sometimes even purrs even though he's absolutely terrified.
Cat's purr also when they are stressed or hurt. It induces endorphins so he's calming himself.

When I saw the first photo, my first thought was, "Hey! Who took pictures of Charlie at the vet?" Notwithstanding that we can't see the cat's head, he's a doppelganger for one of ours. ...///... Our vet is working hard to prevent pets from being scared. For cats, they use towels that have been impregnated with Feliway (soothing pheremones) and concentrated catnip spray. One of ours gets so hysterical that she gets a tiny dose pf painkiller before she goes in. It's not enough to make her dopey - it's just enough for her to chill. ...///... Vets don't like scaring animals, and trying to examine a stressed out pet is cruel.
On one visit the suspended ceiling had a little corner panel missing and before I knew it the cat was through it. Believe me, we had one hell of a time getting her out.
My Siamese, Yum-yum crawled inside my coat and into the sleeve one time. I was wearing the coat.
For some reason my vet has a sliding door with no latch so my dog just pushes it open to leave. I always take my daughter with me to hold the door closed while I comfort the dog and the vet does his/her thing.
Oh boy, this reminds me of a situation I got myself in a few years back... I'm disabled and can't drive, and my parents were out on a several day long trip. Of course, my cat chooses THAT TIME to be sick. I had to take her to the vet. I couldn't find the carrier (we had recently moved), I ended up using a box and having to call a taxi to take me to the vet. Turns out she was fine. While I was waiting for another taxi to take me home, the receptionist says, 'why not let her out of the box until your ride comes?' I say, 'are you sure it's safe? She likes to hide'. The receptionist said it was fine. Naturally, my cat found the ONE spot where she could get behind the heavy metal shelving display, which we had to haul out to rescue her. Meanwhile the taxi was waiting for me... XD... They stuck something in front of that spot ever since. I felt so bad. The ironic part is... she spent the first few months of her life in a vet office.You'd think she'd be used to them.
My elderly cat is such an a*****e at the vet that she has to be tranquillized, then removed from the carrier. It costs an extra $70 for the shot. Thanks, Nora.
When we go to the vet my older cat love to climb on my shoulders..and sits like a parrot or like a fur scarf touching my head..Maybe he feel more secure with contact and higher position..he does this only in this situation..
My cat would immediately release all his hair. The vet and I would be covered. That was his revenge
My cat tried to go under the exam table but then got stuck so my mom and I were trying to move the table
LOL my old cat he would try to hide behind the bench in the room my kitten he didn't give a F*** he was exploring the whole room and wanted to greet the techs when they opened the door.
Hah! Never mind cats, try taking a hen to the vets. Now that's tough! And the looks on the faces of the dogs in the waiting room when they heard said hen crow. Priceless!
My special needs kitty did that for most of her life. We had no idea she had a spinal birth defect because the vet never got to see her walk because she was always in the sink. We got a mobile vet who came to the house when everyone got too old for the car. New vet noticed IMMEDIATELY that kitty sat and walked as if she had a spinal problem. If the old vet would have noticed when kitty was young, she coulda surgery to fix it. Nothing could fix the special needs brain though.
My female cat jumps in the vet's lap and puts her head in/under? his armpit.
My *dog* does this. I have a little bichon frise. I look away for five seconds and she is hiding under the sink or under the chair or once behind the garbage can. Spry for a ten year old.

i hold my cat and try to make it feel better until the vet and vet tech comes in, then the vet tech pets and soothes the cat the entire time. i wouldn't let it loose to be scared and try to hide.
My oldest cat does the complete opposite. He purrs, rubs round the vet and headbutts her lovingly. I think he's hoping emotional bribery will stop her from getting the needle out.
Ok, so my cat was really scared of the vet. And she was so scared that she was peeing every time we will take her outside the house to take her to the vet. So, I and my boyfriend used to pretend that we are getting ready, and putting on shoes. Then, one of us would take her one meter out of the house, and the second one would hold a vessel under her, and she would pee in it, as usual. After that we would leave the house to the vet for real. This trick kept working all the time, lol. The funny thing is that she was scared, but actually enjoyed the car rides and would feel fine after we leave the house. Just the moment of leaving exactly was freaking her out.
The one that is smiling at the camera, it reminds me of the cat from Alice in Wonderland! Lmao!

I see what you're saying, but the vet is a necessary evil. Nobody brings their cat to the vet for the purpose of torturing them, but their reactions can still be amusing and, if nothing else, highly relatable.
