Cat Brooches : How I Gave Birth To A Couple Dozen Emotional Cats After My First Trip To Turkey
Hello ! My name is Anastasiya and now I’ll tell you how I gave birth to a couple of dozens of emotional cats after my first trip to Turkey.
From my earliest childhood, I had two favorite pursuits. The first is to do something hand made and the second to cuddle with cats. If the first was much easier, parents always encouraged my desire to draw, sew, knit or sculpt, but with the second was difficult. Mom did not want to have animals in the apartment, but all the same every week i carried home a street kitten.
Since then, many years have passed and my desire to create has grown into a hobby and then into work. But new ideas did not come to me, I wanted to work less and less and eventually in the spring of 2015 I decided to have a vacation and fly to Turkey. From Turkey, I already came with a cat and a painted new collection of cat brooches. How did this happen?
After visiting Turkey for the first time I saw that in this country the cult of cats. Here cats are very fond of. This can be seen at every step. On the street there are special devices with food. And in each quarter there are several small three-story houses where cats can hide from the rain or snow, play or just sleep in the warmth.
Watching my favorite animals, I began to notice more and more that cats are like people. They all have different faces, emotions and character. I wanted some of these emotions to always be with me. Then I taked a pencil and a sheet of paper and began to paint what was in my head. Even then I was confident that I would come home not alone, but with a new friend and a new collection.
And it happened. The next day, when I was walking around the city, someone grabbed me sharply by the leg. It was a small gray cat. My muse . My new friend .
Now I look at his emotions and create my brooches, each time noticing something new. Every brooch I make with great attention and love. Each brooch is a separate cat and its history. Every emotion is a part of me.
