Woman Runs Into Insufferable Highschool Teacher 20 Years Later And Gets Proof That Karma Really Exists
Things one is told when they are younger often have a disproportionate effect, after all, one has less total data in their head, so if a person in a position of authority starts making statements, we often can’t help but internalize them. Sometimes it takes years to realize that, actually, adults might just be unpleasant and downright incorrect.
A woman shared how, twenty years ago, her teacher decided to publicly humiliate her and say she’d amount to nothing. So when she met her, years later, in the halls of the university she worked at, she decided that this was a great opportunity to get a little bit of petty revenge.
Being told that you won’t amount to anything is almost never actually justified
So one woman seized the moment when she met her high school teacher 20 years later
Readers added their own comebacks to the teacher
Teachers can, for some reason, just decide they don't like/rate you. I was very good at football but when the area school trials came around, my sports master sent seven of the team and not me. I went to watch and while there the teacher running it, from another school, enquired why I wasn't playing. I told him I wasn't selected and he said get some boots you can join the second half group. I borrowed my mates boots (two sizes too big) and played well. A week later a notice went on up naming the three lads from our school selected. I was in the three. Later in the day I saw the teacher and he blanked me completely. I went on to captain the area side and on leaving school I became self employed and played semi-pro football for over fifteen years, which was quite lucrative as well as hugely enjoyable. Never did find out why Mr Dumigan didn't rate me but hey, up yours.
