Bride Changes The Color Of Sister-In-Law’s Top In Her Wedding Photos, Won’t Send Her The Original Pics Unless She Pays For Them
Summer is the official wedding season, and just like the sizzling heat, the pressure to have it perfect and the building stress reaches the boiling point. So no wonder we hear so many stories about things getting out of hand when people are tying the knot.
And sometimes, the problem arises after the wedding ceremony is over and the celebration has already passed. This is what happened to a bride who got married back in June. In a viral post on AITA, the woman nicknamed Low-Abbreviations352 wrote that her “now sister-in-law was wearing an outfit with a white top and a black bottom part.”
This may not have seemed like that big of a deal at first, but when the photographs were ready, the opposite became obvious. “I didn’t say anything to her at the wedding, but going through my photos with the photographer, I felt like they were a bit silly since the top part of her outfit was literally the same color as my wedding dress,” the bride wrote and added that “it really made her pop out.”
Therefore, the bride decided to photoedit her SIL’s dress which not just made her terribly upset, but created a lot of drama in the family.
Recently, a bride shared how she photoshopped her sister-in-law’s dress because she stood out too much in the photographs which left her very upset

Many people expressed their support for the author in this situation
Others, however, thought the bride was wrong

This is so dumb... It's not like the friend wore a white fancy dress, it's just a shirt. If op feels threatened by someone wearing a white shirt to her wedding she has way bigger issues to work through.
She didn’t feel threatened at the wedding, she didn’t do anything but have her photographer retouch *her* wedding photos. That’s an aesthetic decision not feeling threatened 🙄
Load More Replies...This just seems like pointless drama. I can’t say I would care since it’s a black and white jumpsuit and not a white dress. Petty times.
Wait until someone photobombs your wedding photos and becomes the focal point of your special day... Let's see if you still wouldn't care
Load More Replies...If the bride is overshadowed by someone wearing a white shirt on wedding pictures, then it might be worth re-considering whether the designer/stylist & photographer were the right picks for this particular occasion. One way or another, I wish BP would stop pushing this kind of boring pettiness to generate content 🤮
You don't understand how easily the human eye is drawn to bright white focal points in photos. There was nothing wrong with the stylist. It's simply human nature to be drawn to a bright white focal point. If it was some schlub in boring white painter's overalls or something, it would be the same problematic attention grabber - nothing to do with style or aesthetics, don't be stupid.
Load More Replies...as an indian person i have to say this is hilarious. at indian weddings you don't have to worry about upstaging the bride. it's just not possible. but in this situation i'd say nta! if the sil wanted good photos of that outfit she should have taken them another time. also the gray top is really cute anyway.
Oh no it happened! I have a friend whose SIL wore her own wedding dress(absolutely red)to her (my friend's)wedding and was decked up just like a bride. People in groom's party joked that there were two brides for him. Not everyone was happy. I missed the wedding and when I saw the photos I was shocked! It is possible in Indian weddings too.
Load More Replies...Without seeing the original photos, who here can honestly say whether or not the white top stood out too much? However, that's irrelevant, as the photographer was hired and paid for by the bride, not the SIL. If OP wants the photos touched up that's her right as a client; plus she has already paid for all the photos that she wants. If SIL wants unretouched photos, she can pay for them herself, or hire her own photographer.
This is crazy.... there is so much wrong here! The bride has lost sight of reality and turned into a real bridezilla! I think she's taken the whole don't wear white to a wedding too far; it was the top of an outfit. Saying it's too noticeable in photos shows her to be acting like a spoilt brat. She was the bride; everyone was looking at her, no one will even remember what the SIL wore, and how many people look at their wedding pictures? If you want a couple out on display just choose ones she isn't in. I'd be really pissed with the bride editing my outfit. I think if I've paid for a beautiful outfit to go to an event I'd want to look good in any pictures. If she had worn something less beautiful would the bride have taken issue that she hadn't dressed up enough? The bride is definitely TA here.
She didn’t complain about the white she just wants to be the one noticed in her own wedding photos! Seriously the sil has no say in photos she didn’t pay for. The end. NTA just for wanting to be the main focus I. Your own wedding photos. It’s the sam reason the MOB and MOG west complimentary colors to the bridal party, to make the photos look well composed and attractive to the eye. I can’t imagine a woman not caring that some detracted from her in her own wedding photos. Instead of being pissy, she had a minor edit done to the pics they are both in. The SIL is the one causing drama.
Load More Replies...Unbalanced colour of photo NOT that the bride said no white. If it's that pathetic and petty topic for discussion, what the heck are you discussing it for?
Load More Replies...Was it really worth damaging a relationship with your in laws? Very petty and unnecessary drama.
Is it worth the MIL & SIL damaging a relationship with their inlaws? Their daughter in law. It works both ways.
