On April 15th, 2013, the Tsarnaev brothers set off a homemade bomb at the Boston Marathon that wound up killing 3 and wounding more than 260 runners and spectators. One of them, Rebekah Gregory, had to undergo 35 operations and lose her leg as a result of the atrocity – but that hasn’t stopped her from running.

Today, she will run the last 3.5 miles (5.6km) with her brand-new prosthetic leg, which she has affectionately named Felicia. If the purpose of a terrorist attack is to instill fear, Gregory is proof that the Tsarnaev brothers have failed miserably.
