I have a bs in molecular biology but I cant get a job in it because I can't afford to take a pay less internship just to get my foot in the door. College is a lie.

What is wrong with everybody? Why are you sad for Caleb? Maybe he enjoys what he is doing? Maybe he's taking time off? What is really depressing, are the expectations society sets up "you need to get a degree, find your "dream job", earn a lot of money, buy a house, get marries bla bla" quod erat demonstrandum. Stay happy, Caleb!!

This is great! I don't know why people find it depressing. Caleb probably has student loans. I took whatever job I could get while searching for a job in my field too. When I was a waitress in my 30's, most of my coworkers were Northwestern students. College isn't cheap :)

My husbands cousin has a degree in marine biology, he took over his fathers fruit shop and has run the business for nearly 30 yrs.

I cleaned hotel rooms after I got my bachelors in arts. That was in 1984. You don’t get everything you want right away you don’t even get the job you want right away. I then went on to become a teacher and if you picked the right state it’s a great job and pays wonderfully well. Come to New York State. You will get a living wage, a pension and health care.

A degree does not guarantee a good job in one's preferred field. Ask me how I know. No, don't.

A few weeks ago everyone on here was commenting on how zoos are terrible places and they should be shut down. Now everybody is hoping for this guy to get a job at a zoo.... pick a side! Personally, I love the zoo and hope this guy finds a job at one

Shall we go "make" more of them so he can be employed in his specialty? You think he's the only one not doing what he was educated to do? I'll bet less than 50% of college grads are working in their chosen major. *I'm* not...

A degree in philosophy would probably pay better than zoology. Bugs aren't in real hot demand on Wall Street.

There is one thing we can do: Get out and vote. Vote for the senators and representatives who aren't afraid to push for single-payer, universal health care. And if someone calls you a socialist, tell them to look at Japan, which a) is hardly socialist, b) has the world's longest life expectancy, and c) has a well-established universal health care system.

Don't have to wait for it. Come to Ukraine, we are constantly crowdfunding some sick child's care.

If you need to watch a video before trying to do something to help, it doesn't matter whether there are ads or not; the person will probably die anyway. That's the reason why everybody should learn some very basic first aid skills, like the Hemilich Maneuver, at school, instead of soooo much useless rubbish.

I always wonder why they made it that it's the customer's job to make sure if the workers/servers are paid or not. does this system works?

And people working in the media industry earn way more than any manual laborer or most of the engineers, scientists, medical doctors...

My niece is 5. I cannot imagine her having to represent herself in any legal matters. I'm 30, and I can't imagine representing myself in any legal matters.

Well.. we are too far in killing bees and the environment.. so.. we will need to do both at the same time. There is no planet B.
