The article says its charcoal flavored :/ I remember when I was a kid a very small icream parlor in Bandon Oregon had Black colored Black licorice ice cream and it was Delish!

It says at the top that it is almond-charcoal (a surprisingly delicious flavour!).

As delicious and fitting as that would be, I believe the article said it was almond and charcoal flavored. Which is an interesting choice, but if they're selling they must taste pretty good XD

1) It's not even the "black roasted sesame" flavour. 2) No one was claiming they "invented" black ice cream. 3) Even the article said that this is not the first black ice cream fad. Learn to read before you type.

I mean, we're called the "melting pot" for a reason. 90% of our culture is a big mix of little pieces of other countries because our original population was made up entirely of immigrants who kept their heritage alive by celebrating and sharing their homelands' traditions. They laid a foundation for a very diverse country whose culture was based on other cultures. So yes. It is an American thing to be extremely influenced by other countries. I wouldn't call this particular case "stealing" as the ice cream in this article is not colored by roasted sesame seeds but it wouldn't surprise me if the creators of it saw Kyoto's ice cream and were inspired by it. Or maybe they didn't see it at all and really did come up with the idea entirely on their own. It's a big world out there full of different ideas and beliefs, and most creations are heavily inspired by others. It'd be hard to say any idea could be stolen, as most ideas are in fact somewhat unoriginal themselves.

It isn't an "American" thing. And America is filled with immigrants so... which country are you from? I bet you won't tell us lol. xD
