Thanks for all the heartfelt comments. I am the woman in the picture. It was a rough year to be diagnosed with breast cancer and undergo chemotherapy right before my beautiful daughter's wedding. When I was getting ready with the girls in the wedding and they were all there watching me it was just very emotional. I am doing great now and living every day to the fullest and I am thankful for each one.

Cheese - Thia looks like a mother with cancer and her daughter (the bride). My guess, given their tears, is the mother's cancer is terminal.

NEVER, EVER say ANYONE is TERMINAL!!! The lady in the picture just now commented up there. It's the very first one....Read It!! Secondly, the only people who are allowed to say terminal is the doctor, the patient, and the patient's loved ones maybe. YOU should NEVER make that kind of judgment call. That was a very rude, heartless comment. There are people who, once they hear that word they give up, and then there are the fighters. And this lovely lady is a fighter. I am very proud of her, and I am thrilled that she is now enjoying life each and every day. SHE IS AWESOME!!!!

Most likely the mother has undergone chemotherapy due to cancer. One result of the treatment is hair loss. You can see the mother has also lost her eyebrows and they have been drawn on, it's difficult to tell if these are happy tears or sad ones...given the image I would imagine they are sad tears and the mother does not have a good prognosis.

I cried at a wedding too. I was Best Man for my friend Steve. Why did I cry? Because my own marriage had disintegrated, and my optimism dashed. Yet I was there for them. (They're still together.)

My sister had an outdoor autumn wedding, and even though it was a sunny and dry day, she said the entire bottom of her dress was covered in dirt afterward! If you're really having a good time, you don't worry about keeping the wedding attire clean. :P

This is why my daughter wore cowboy boots under her dress. Of course, she never has been a fan of heels. And we live in Texas. They were white boots though, they matched her dress in design, and it was a covered pavilion. I didn't even notice them until after, I had been hoping she would wear her ruby slippers. (Long story on the ruby slippers.)

To the people criticizing the parents of these children and saying it's not ok.... get over yourselves. This is obviously before the ceremony, people are waiting, kids are antsy, and by the looks of the pianist, music is playing. It's better to let the kids cavort and play, burn off the energy and excitement, so then they can be calmer for when the ceremony starts.

Beautiful !!!! I absolutely love this. I hope that owl is alive and not just preserved by a taxidermist. And the detail in the brides gown is amazing. This would actually be the perfect gift to the bride. The look on the grooms face is so sweet. Great picture. (I love owls, and my daughter is obsessed with them.) if you have been to a bunch of weddings (as a wedding photographer, i have been to more than 300), then you would really appreciate this photo. it definitely captures the "moment" of putting on the dress. it's always a combination of crazy, funny, goofy things that people do for the sake of a wedding. i love that the photographer captured the essence of a bride getting ready. the friends helping, the bride half dressed (but still covered), the bag over her head to protect the hair & makeup. love it.

Around here, every bride and groom is responsible to clean up after themselves if their guests throw rice. They don't want the pigeons to eat it

In this day and age, I'm surprised anyone is still throwing rice. Bubbles, bird seed, flower petals...ANYTHING but rice.

I'm a photographer and didn't "get" more than half of these. A backstory would have made them more understandable, especially for context. But multiple winners nonetheless.
