This Baby Girl Has An Inoperable Brain Tumor, So Her Parents Did A Photoshoot To Show Their Love

When Abigail Jones was born on August 6th, her parents already knew the odds were stacked against her, but then came the diagnosis: their little angel had an inoperable brain tumor and probably didn’t have long to live. Despite this crushing news, however, Erika and Stephen Jones were determined to fill her short life with love. This heartbreaking photoshoot captures their bittersweet family life.

“We knew little Abby’s life had a purpose, no matter how long or short it was,” Erika writes on a blog run by Mary, the couple’s photographer. The couple first had to come to terms with the news that Abigail, their second daughter, would be born with Down syndrome, but the news of the inoperable tumor was different. “Our hearts were broken and our minds weighted with questions and fear of the unknown to come”

“The neurosurgeon recommended that we take Abigail home and cover her with love,” Erika writes. “So we did and pediatric hospice will help us navigate the journey to come. We have smothered this little one with love and kisses and will continue to do so every moment we get.”

The same place He was when my son lost oxygen during birth, was severely disabled and passed away 3 weeks before his 4th birthday. Ever present! Let's be clear. Religion is for fools. I have a relationship with the King of Kings. It's a deep spiritual connection. I pray everyone can experience Him <3

I can not even imagine what you are going through as a family and as individuals. I hope you can pull strength from each other and let your love envelope yourselves as well as your little daughter. Much love to you all. May you find peace after it's all done.

These parents are using this poor little babe to promote their right to "life" approach at whatever the cost and to receive accolades from those who are not considering the poor quality of life associated with the diagnoses. This sanctimonious attitude is selfish and lacking in compassion.

Just to clarify, for most people of mature faith God is not Santa Clause. God gives all humans free will or we would be robots. One of the consequences of free will is that the world is not a clockwork -- illness happens, disease happens, natural disasters happen. Religion is not about rules of being a good boy/girl or a bad boy/girl it is a deep relationship with the Eternal One who is, was and always will be. If you are Christian, then your primary faith relationship is with Jesus Christ who is one in being with God. People who are dealing with illness in themselves or their family members or most sadly their children are praying to God that they will get well. Because prayer changes us and changes circumstances, but God is not impassively looking down. God is always trying to bring about better outcomes, and often God uses us for that. God is a complete expression of love, though our own pain obscures that, but these pictures do not. Rev. Jeannine - Hopice Chaplain.

"The neurosurgeon said take Abigail home and cover her with love", not just murder your child because she isn't going to be the perfect baby you want and she's going to die anyway. Children are children no matter what and deserve protection even if it's just for a very short time. This baby was surrounded by loving people.

I'm going to go out on a limb and state that you've never dealt with a newborn before? It may look weird but it's not that uncommon to wrap them up like that. They don't use their limbs much because the muscles are still too weak, and it's more important that they feel snug & warm. http://raisingchildren.net.au/articles/wrapping_newborn.html
