There are some artists who seem to carry their sketchbooks everywhere they go. Who knows when the moment of inspiration will hit you, right? However, there are also artists who don't need to do that because they can turn almost everything into their canvas. We've seen artists turn furniture, streets, paper coffee cups, and even their own bodies into a canvas for the sake of creating wonderful masterpieces but this time we've got something different!
Italy-based 22-year-old artist Michael Moccia is not a stranger to painting on unusual and odd surfaces. It may sound strange but he uses everyday shopping receipts to unleash his creativity and demonstrate his amazing painting skills. Strangely enough, we must say that the presence of the numbers and words somehow makes his art even more outstanding and alluring!
His doodles (or should we say masterpieces?) features a variety of different things, ranging from detailed plants and flowers such as roses or sakuras, to portraits of famous people such as Justin Bieber, Rihanna or Will Smith, and even replicas of famous artworks like Edvard Munch, Vincent van Gogh, or Rene Magritte. Inspired by postmodern art movements, most of his artworks are painted using pencils and brushes making them stand out of the crowd. Well, at least more than 88.4k followers on his Instagram account definitely think so!
