I’ve been photographing abandoned places above the Arctic circle in Norway and Sweden for a couple of years. Spending so much time in the north has made me fall completely in love with the unpredictable weather, the spectacularly beautiful views, the intense and ever-changing light, the warmth of the people, and the endless opportunities. So I moved! I sold my apartment, said my goodbyes to family and friends, and started a new life in the Arctic.
It hasn’t been easy tackling a new environment and starting over. Not to mention snow in June and snow in September, and well, snow at any given time of the year really. But the reward of being able to spend my free time exploring the beautiful nature, and share the stories of these long-abandoned homes, makes this decision the right one.

The gray clouds look as if they came out of the chimney. Lovely work - thanks for sharing :)
Some of these are very scary. I wish she would get her book translated and published in English. I want to know the stories behind the abandonments.
Looks like the setting of "The Messengers" (scary movie of a few years ago). Only instead of grass it was a huge wave of sunflowers.
These are all really beautiful! You take beautiful photos. Many look like oil paintings that a rich person would have around the house!
Why would you say something like that? Are u jealous that it wasn’t you out there helping people put their lives back together? If the RN in your name stands for registered nurse I sincerely hope I never get you as my caregiver.
Ooouuuuu looks like it’s got a right proper cellar! Scary 🧟♀️🧙🏻♀️🧛🏻♀️
I do wish your book was available in the US. I find these homes absolutely fascinating and would love to know the stories behind them. I could never ever live there. I live in AZ and I get cold here.
oh my gosh. The landscape. The atmosphere. I can see and feel exactly why you pursued this course. Best wishes. This all looks amazing.
All of these are an introvert's paradise! It's a shame they were abandoned.
Depends. I'm an introvert too, but I'd feel bored and anxious to spend too much time there. Beautiful places none the less.
