Flying economy class is never comfortable, but my grandparents always used to get dressed up before travelling; now, after 9/11 security measures and discount flights, easy-on, easy-off flip-flops and sweat pants seem to be de rigueur. And then there's that guy sitting next to you that decides to take off his shoes...

Better than what I had. On a 13 hour flight to England a morbidly obese woman with a mustache to rival tom selleks face was in the way the ENTIRE time. She just stood there yacking away in her language I wanted to throttle her

I was recently on a flight where the woman next to me spread her elbows just as far as she could get them so that her elbow was in my boob the entire flight. I just do not understand people.

ugh what a cow. We had that problem last flight but it was my husband getting an old womans elbow who repeatedly tried to push his arm right off his own arm rest so he just shoved her right back lol Some people are such trash!

just fight for your right. I also experience this, even in a bus.. and I dont let them have their way. I tell them what's wrong with what theyre doing and I tell them to their face. of course it has an advantage that Im 6', has a big build and a male (plus I have tattoos). That'd shut them up.

I don't understand the people who can take the time to take pictures of these rude behaviors, but not speak up to them and tell them its not ok. I had someone try and stick their feet through my window arm rest once, a quick conversation asking them to keep their gross feet out of my personal space was all it took.

I haven't been on a plane in... I don't know how long.... over 20 years. Didn't there used to be more room before? Things are looking far too inhumanely cramped here. I am guessing airlines are trying to cram as many riders as possible. I'll take the dog crate in the cargo hold, thanks.

I've been lucky not to have seen most of these things first hand (knock on wood). The screaming baby is annoying, but I'll give it a pass 'cause I was a screaming baby once, too. But the other stuff is just basic common courtesy. Don't rely on the flight attendants to "bail you out," though. My flight attendant friend says she refuses to be what she calls an "air cop."

And the worst thing I've experienced was a guy asking repeatedly for a snickers bar even though they'd called out several times there were a passenger on board with a peanut allergy... nothing compared to these haha. (he eventually settled for pretzels, a bottle of wine and fell asleep)

i had two morbidly obese (at leest 140kg each) sitting next to me. They had ordered seats next to eachother but after 10 minuttes of struggle i was told to move to the middle so they could fit on each side. No armrests, no air to breath. Didn't help that they were constantly talking through me the entire flight either

I haven't flown in decades and will never fly again unless I absolutely must. It's just too much of an ordeal for me to bear. I don't like most people anyways, so it is a living nightmare for me to be cooped up in a cabin with a bunch of inconsiderate, ignorant jerks and rude, authoritarian staff. I also have metal in my body and don't want to be pulled out of line. Airlines, you can stick it!! I will drive instead.

I have traveled with my son when he was an infant.. if you know what you are doing they can and will sleep the whole time (we did Europe and China so I know what I am talking about), I have had rude and inconsiderate people around me and I don't hesitate to tell them to move (For example keeping seat all the way reclined during the meal..WTF dude sit up so I can eat!) or if they don't listen I ask the flight attendant... then I get mean if I have to...

I totally get what you're saying, but I do have long hair and I will put it up like that on a chair to cool off. That being said, it is NOT okay to do that on planes or in lecture halls
