A Cartoon Cat Started Living In My Head And Made Some Demands.
Punk Turkey has been a long time sketchbook mascot for me. Anytime I lost focus at school or work, I would end up with comics instead of lecture notes. Turkey never asked to be shared. He felt like he had nothing worthy to add to the world. Then he got a cat, and he named him Whisky. Whisky changed everything.
Whisky was born during a work meeting that seemed to be droning on forever. He “needed a face” as my next seat captive commented and I drew an X. My audience of one died laughing and from then on, that was Whisky.
Whisky has demanded that he be shared and seen, or he will leave. He’s an audacious, bold, shapeshifter kitty and he will not be ignored by his creator. He is full of empathy and love and wants to give laughs and occasional bad pun groans. He’s a sketchy character and his dad is a turkey.
