Early this year I decided it was time to take the plunge and start a 365 project. I had read a lot about how working on a project that requires you to shoot every day can improve your photography. After shooting candid street photography for over a year I felt the time was right to try something different and challenge myself with a new idea. That idea was to shoot intimate street portraits every day.

I believe that many people in today’s world, particularly in cities, tend to get caught up in the fast pace of life and rarely spare time to interact with one another. I wanted to change that for myself and use photography as a vehicle to achieve it.

I have photographed around 100 people over the past two months in a variety of locations. I have been, and continue to be, overwhelmed by the positive reactions I’ve received. I have met some lovely people along the way, several of whom I have since connected with via social media or email. The messages of support and praise I have received from them and my amazing followers motivates me to keep going!

The project has focused on people in London so far but I am planning to shoot everywhere I go this year. Following our wedding in late summer my fiancé and I are planning to embark on a prolonged honeymoon to go travelling for a few weeks. I’m sure this will afford me numerous opportunities to photograph people from different backgrounds and cultures.
