This guy ruined the notion an electric car has to seem like a costly golf cart or be unsightly. He’s attempting to make commercial space flight potential, high speed terrestrial journey potential, and he founded this teenie tiny company called PayPal. He’s considered one of the most sexy billionaires on the planet, if you don’t feel insufficient. Elon Musk is an entrepreneur, investor and inventor extraordinaire, but you’d be misguided if you believe that he’s leading an easygoing life. Here are a couple of facts you likely didn’t about Elon Musk.

1. HE WAS HOSPITALIZED AS A CHILD

While Elon Musk was growing up in South Africa, he was greatly intimidated and on one occasion was truly hospitalized when he was thrown down a flight of stairs, and then defeated until he blacked out. He wasn’t only the lowest but also the most brilliant pupil at his school which made him a goal for bullying.

2. HE LOST A KID

The most brilliant, most talented and skilled people aren’t protected from disaster. This occurred during a period when Elon and Justine (his first wife) were driving a tide of success, riches and privilege as an outcome of Elon’s first on-line enterprise, Zip2, which was sold for millions of dollars. One day, their first son Nevada Alexander Musk was put down for a rest, which he’d never wake up from. At 10 weeks old, Nevada fell unconscious and was subsequently kept on life support for three days until the distraught couple made the choice that was tough to take him off it.

3. HE HAS FIVE KIDS

After the couple lost their first child, they determined to try again and, through IVF, they had five more kids (twins and triplets). Sadly, due to Elon’s duties and professional aspirations, the union broken up soon after in an extremely public divorce.

4. HE UNDERSTANDS HARD WORK

At age 15, he determined to travel through the States and then, rather than returning to his native South Africa, determined to get a Canadian Passport and work his way into Queen’s University in Ontario. He worked as a farm hand, a vegetable harvester, and donned a heavy, hot hazmat suit to clean out creosol goop out of a lumber yard’s boiler with a working class drive to triumph. Eventually, he made it into Queen’s University.

5. HE LIVED LIKE A PENNILESS COLLEGE STUDENT

Due to his limited finances, and during school, he tried to live on less than $1 a day. Without getting scurvy as Musk himself puts it. He lived after transferring from Queen’s University because of importance which rewarded him with a degree in Physics and Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.

Like Mad Max, but with more body odor.

Another one of Musk’s brainchildren, might have been inspired by the heady Burning Man festival that is described as an experiment in community, technology and art. Its adherents are usually members of the serious environmentalists, counterculture, and quite avant garde. A number of people even suppose that his thought for Tesla (the world’s first “cool” electric vehicle) might have been a kid of his Burning Man visitations.

7. HE CONSIDERS THAT A.I. WILL RUIN MANKIND

We Adore Pictures [more than you]

Not only that but he’s participated in the fight against the machines with his gift of $10 million to the Future of Life Institute that’ll create a grant that’ll work on ensuring machines don’t begin killing us with lasers (or any other implements including kitchen pots, wooden spoons, weed whackers or electrified metal tendrils). He considers that unregulated A.I. technology could be a tremendous danger to mankind as, once self aware, it’ll likely try to terminate anything that’s deemed a danger to its survival (which is pretty much us people).
