This is about Dashrath Manjhi, the “Mountain man” from India who has shortened travel between two blocks from 55km to 15km using only a hammer and chisel.

Faguni Devi(wife) of Dashrath, died after an accident due to not receiving immediate medical care, as there were no nearby hospitals.Thinking that no one else should suffer this fate, he resolved to build the road to make his village more accessible. It took him 22 years (1960–1982) to make the road.
