This Japanese Artist Draws Pokémon As Real Animals

Just when you’re this close to completing your Pokémon collection, something comes up. This time that something is illustrator and character designer Totomame, who’s been creating new Pokémon characters for a couple years now, giving them a more realistic feel.

In his illustrations, Totomame mixes the classic cute beast designs with the looks of real-life animals, producing a Pokémon collection that’s more grounded in real life. And honestly, we can’t decide which one’s better… What do you think?
