Paralyzed Bunny Gets A Tiny Skateboard Wheelchair To Move Around

Wheelz was found stiff and frozen by a farmer at Overlook Acres, US. He was more than likely injured by an older rabbit who dragged him out of his nest box. Normally, the bunny would have been put down to take him out of the misery. But Wheelz was determined to live, even if paralyzed, so the farm’s owners decided to keep him as a pet.

Wheelz was given a tiny skateboard wheelchair for $1 so that he could move freely. “Just because you raise an animal to consume does not mean that you don’t provide that animal with kindness, compassion, and the best living environment you can provide,” wrote the farmer on Facebook. “Wheelz has his forever home.”

I'm shocked that this "article" was shared on bored panda. If you look through their facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/OverlookAcres/) and shift through all the c**p on their website, you'll come to find they were at fault for the bunny's problems. This is a "humane" slaughter farm. The conditions that the animals are left in (freezing cold, unsanitary, etc) is more than likely what caused the bunny to have issues in the first place. And, they are pivoting a kickstarter campaign for their farm off of the "love and concern" for this poor bunny. I don't normally comment on things, but I'd be upset if I would have shared this video (which I almost did) and didn't know the truth.

I'm curious if you've ever lived on a farm and know how much of a problem cold weather is or what types of problems it can cause? The owner of the facebook page even explained, "rabbits raised in a commune environment have an hierarchy and that the dominant does will and do drag the kits out of the nest box, which is how they got chilled in the first place. When this happens you have two options separate the doe or cull her"... I would imagine the animals on this farm are better off than the animals in other "meat farms". You can at least tell they try to give their animals space and keep them healthy if something does happen. Would you rather purchase meat from more corporate places where you know the animals are cramped, diseased and worse? Give them some credit and don't immediately jump at their throats. I just learned of this story and did some research and could still tell that the animals here are still way better off than other meat farms. The reality is: people eat meat.

these people are meat farmers. they allowed six litters of rabbits to freeze to death, and this is one survivor. they are now using him to raise $$ for a book and the farm. if i stabbed someone and paralyzed them and then used them to garner sympathy and raise money for myself i would probably not be liked very much. I think it's called Munchausen's by Proxy.
