I’m A 15-year-old Amateur Nature Photographer And Here’s Some Of My Best Shots
I never really became interested in photography all at once. Over the years, I’ve had several little pocket-sized cameras, and I’d take pictures of lots of things – snow outside, things in my room, pets, or random things out of the car window. Towards the end of the summer of 2013, I began borrowing my sister’s Nikon Coolpix L120 to photograph plants and insects in the garden. I began posting these photos on Instagram and when people would ask what kind of DSLR or lens I used, I’d have to tell them I just had a little point-and-shoot.
This spring, my sister moved out with her camera, so I wasn’t able to do much picture-taking. However, in August she knew someone who was selling their Canon EOS 50D and lens, and she asked me if I was still interested in photography. I told her that I was, and she bought and shipped it me! So my hobby has resumed. :)
Because my lens is telephoto, closeup photography isn’t the easiest thing (you must be a minimum of almost 3 ft from your subject.) However, I’d like to get a macro lens someday.
Although I’m not planning to go into photography as a career, I’m trying to get a little personal business up and running to bring in some extra money.
