Monkey Adopts A Puppy, Defends It From Stray Dogs, And Lets It Eat First

Earlier this month, a rhesus macaque monkey adopted an adorable puppy in Rode, India. After watching the monkey defend the little dog from strays, the locals were so impressed that they set out food for the two unlikely friends. To everyone’s surprise, the caretaker monkey was so compassionate that it even let the cute puppy eat first!

“People who have seen the two adorable animals spoke of their strong mutual affection and described this animal friendship as the most caring thing in the world — to take care of a puppy in danger and protect him like a parent,” reports Zee News. “The undying affection of these two animal friends gives us a valuable lesson about relationships.”

That's so sweet! But as a concerned pet lover, locals might wanna watch out when the monkey has grapes- grapes are REALLY bad for dogs!

There would be less war and less hunger if we all learned from this monkey

Lutetia Vollentine, do you not know how to use google before you post a comment claiming to know something? Grapes ARE poisonous to dogs and cause them to go into kidney failure. You sound like an idiot claiming to know something and calling someone a name for not knowing when you are the one who is wrong, you are the “idiotic dimwit” lol. Your a sad pathetic person. I bet ur the kind of person who thinks they know everything and doesn’t listen to someone when they state facts, you just keep screaming “no, I’m right, ur wrong.” You need to get a grip. Lol wow people are so damn ignorant.

India is one of the worst places to be a stray puppy. There are worst things that could happen to this pup than being adopted by a monkey. Maybe after the monkey moves on, a rescue organization will pick him up, since he's a little celebrity now.

It’s quite the opposite actually, I stayed in South Goa recently, the stray dogs there have their own little patches of the beach and everyone respects them. They come into some of the beach bars and will sleep at your feet and the nobody minds. The locals and tourists give them food sometimes but they don’t beg for it, they are lovely well mannered dogs ❤️
