Hipster Barbie’s Instagram Mocks Every Annoying Hipster Instagram Post
This hipster barbie Instagram account does a great job of mocking the unoriginal, stereotypical and tremendously “authentic” posts that we see on Instagram every day. Each photo features an avalanche of hashtags and a superficially wise quote with a healthy dose of sarcasm for people who take their Instagrams too seriously.
The creator of the Instagram account, a wedding photographer, has chosen to remain anonymous, but she’s definitely worth following on Instagram at @socalitybarbie.

“Waking up at 10am was so worth it to get that perfect light & fog”
“Taking a relaxing bath and feeling SO #BLESSED”
“Be the kind of leader that you would follow”
“I believe in the person I want to become”
“Coffee & Kinfolk. Cuz my lyfe is beautiful”
“Could I be any more authentic?!”
“It’s like we’re all competing to make the best computer screen saver and the winner gets crowned most authentic”
“Road trip. Ready for this weekends adventure in the mountains!”
“So excited for what this week holds for the @socality community. Can’t wait to @Instagram my way through San Diego while building authentic relationships”
“Wherever you are, be all there”… But take a picture first though”

Share on FacebookThis post so great!!!! Barbie to epitomize the narssisist society we live in today. It's funny to think that all the people who do this really think that people care bout their daily lives? So indulgent. It's like the person who has to tell you they are rich or have a high powered job---it's so much more intriguing to find out things about people on your own. When you feel the need to have to share everything with everyone, you come across immature, shallow, and self-absorbed. Keeping yourself private and a bit of a mystery --now that's really intriguing and appealing these days.
I had a wonderful friend (now deceased) who used to say "you have to put meat in your shoes before even dogs notice you, so why do people think anyone is interested in them?" No one would be self conscious or shy if they accepted how little people really notice others. They wouldn't waste much time on trying to impress others either :)
... Seriously? Of course. Another stereotypical post. I find photos like these to be rather amusing to view with the colors and minimalistic style. Yes, the captions could be better but if its life inspiring then so what? CONFIDENCE. Confidence is key to us. And for us to mock others gets nowhere. What the hell just thinking.
What's more annoying is people bashing other people for living the life they want to live and sharing what they want to share. After all, people can choose to follow or not follow these instagram accounts. Narcissism has nothing to do with it. People are just looking for connection.
I don't get this whole "hipster" word/thing, and those photos are idiotic, but that aside... to me there are those who are into photography and those who are not and will never understand it... There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking photos by a lakeside or of a lakeside for that matter, if you are in love with the view and want to capture that moment, then why the hell not? There are many famous photographers who do just that, and some who picture objects and things that connect us all somehow. I don't agree with the need to smart-a*s quote everything, but film photography has been around way before it became "hipster" and the best of photographers I know, still prefer it to this day!
It's the attitude that stands behind these photos, not the photos alone. Your part about the "smart-a*s quotation need" explains it itself.
Load More Replies...Absolutely magnificent !!! Perfectly portray those self indulgent and shallow people that has nothing more to show than themselves. You can do one for the "interior decorators" as well photographing every nook and cranny of their houses/apartments. Instagram has become so boring. Well said "stanelycourt"
