Finding a Prom date can be a stressful experience for many. Just ask Sam Steingard. With the school dance drawing ever nearer, the 18-year-old singleton from The States still hadn’t found a girl to take. So instead of going alone or refusing the Prom night at all, he did what any rational and sound-minded person would do in such a situation. He took Ruby, his adorable cat.
Ok, so he didn’t take his cute cat to the actual dance (as it might have been too stressful for her), but he did at least pose for some prom photos with her. Sam’s sister Caroline brought the picture to the world’s attention by posting the snap of the happy couple on Imgur (I’m sure Sam appreciated that!) and Sam and Ruby have since become unlikely internet superstars. They might not have gone to a date night together, but they still make a pretty cute couple!

What its the big deal with proms? I'm not from the United States, and I kinda not understand why people make such an effort and goes with all this stress just for this dance.
