Guy Visits Museum But Finds Classical Art Characters Too Serious, Uses FaceApp To Make Them Smile
Unlike a quick selfie, classical portrait paintings weren't that common back in the day and sometimes took months or even years to complete. So when people got their portraits made, they took it seriously. And nowhere is this more evident than in classical art galleries, where you'd be hard-pressed to see anybody smiling. But thanks to the technology of today, one guy was able to put the smiles on even the most serious faces.
London-based designer Olly Gibbs visited the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and took his FaceApp-enabled smartphone with him. For those who haven't tried it, the app can put a smile on almost any subject's frowning face, and those unamused faces in the portrait gallery seemed like they sure needed some of that. Now all of us are smiling thanks to these awesome edits which put a more positive spin on the classical art.

For the record, the reason why those artists didn't show them smiling broadly is because dental hygiene was an unknown science back then. Toothbrushes were not invented, and no telling what one would see if they opened their mouthes fully.

Was just about to say that. Plus rich people (who could afford their portrait being done) had very often rotten teeth because they ate more sweets than the average population.
