jevais Wow, are you just going to ignore the natural instincts of many animals that kill regularly to survive, that kill babies that are not there own, that "selfishly" eat all they can and could give a dang about how much others get, the ignore abandoned babies, who destroy their environment when a natural change happens. But more importantly, do you honestly believe that most humans are as horrible as you describe? I've lived in many countries, known many thousands of people personally, seen many cultures and, honestly, most people are amazing creatures. Quit hating your species and have a little hope. Or, maybe you hope you can be reincarnated as a cow. (By the way, cows don't do anything remotely "humane." They just eat, poop, and give milk.)

You forgot the 'some' in "some people". We are highly creative, and SOME use this to bad things. But Most of us use this creativity for good. Stop blaming the whole for the sins of a small part. Perhaps you should spend some time with an African female herd. I've studied them because it was part of a couple of African anthropology courses, and let me tell you they can be VERY destructive, and even to themselves. Also, try being around some sexually frustrated male bulls, who can't fulfill their sexual creativity.

Yup. Animals aren't purposely malicious on the scale that humans are. They just do what they do. Same reason people don't think badly of a mentally disabled person who does something lame. We understand they don't know any better. Most humans do though and I think that's why we judge them accordingly (as pricks).

John L., mother elephants don't kill their babies, as it happens on a regular bases with the all perfect humans! How many children die because they are born little girls per year? How many children are neglected? Read the papers, you will see that sometimes newborn babies are thrown in garbage bins, left outside to die, etc.

Elephants protect their babies. A lot of human don't. They will embrace that little elephant and take care of it.

Laurie, the truth is that most elephants do protect their babies, just as most humans will also do the same. If you despise humans so much, then why not just move into the wilderness so you won't have to endure humanity. Oh, did you see in the video where some of those very mothers grabbed the baby's food and ate it instead? What about them?
