Augustin And His Lights

Hello world, my name is Augustin Cross and I’m a London based Artist and Photographer. For the last 8 years I’ve delved into the medium of light painting which, in short, is the art of drawing with lights. By using long exposure photography and various light sources I wander under moonlight to both urban and rural scenes, where I paint characters, sculptural forms, creatures and typefaces.

It’s easy to assume that post production and editorial effects are involved, when actually the creative beauty lies in the fact that the images are comprised of no photoshop, no editing and no trickery. Each still is the result of a single frame, straight out of the camera at exposures varying between 2 seconds to 14 minutes…and it befuddles people.

I genuinely love what I do. It’s technical, performative, interactive and it evokes adventure so my next mission is to introduce myself and my take on the true art of light painting to your team, to the world and to the wonderful people that live in it. I mean, Picasso did it so it must be pretty cool.
