I Started 365 Days Painting Challenge To Polish My Craft
In April of last year I presented myself with a challenge: paint one 4″ x 4″ painting every day for 365 days, no excuses allowed. I had seen other artists – such as Lorraine Loots’ Paintings for Ants – progress their art skills rapidly by doing this, so I wanted to see what would happen if I gave myself just one hour or so a day to polish my craft.
Now, almost 365 days later, I have painted through good days and bad, illness and joy. I have painted foods that I love, cute animals, and historic happenings throughout the year. Not only have my skills as an artist improved greatly, but I’ve also seen a change in how I feel – and I’ve even found the courage to follow my dream to be an artist full time.
