“15 Miles From Home” – I Capture Stunning Images Of Our Hometown For My Brother Abroad
I am a self-taught photographer from south-west Germany and bought my first camera in January 2015. Landscape and astrophotography became my passion quickly and I soon spent nights outside, shooting, getting my camera to know, or simply watching the gorgeous night sky. My brother, who emigrated to the U.K, accidently came across my pictures on the internet and asked me to shoot some photos of our local landscape here because he was missing the trees and forests at home. Going out and trying to take the perfect picture in a perfect angle in spots I see almost daily has revealed a whole new world to me. Sometimes, we get so blinded by the everyday life that we can’t perceive the beauty at our very doors. But if we pause for a moment and look closely, we might realise that we’re in the midst of an El Dorado for photographers and the next great adventure is just a stone’s throw away.
