In creating this series of original photographs I first sculpted each element in translucent woven stainless steel, copper and brass. These sculptures are themselves transitory in that they are created for the image to be taken and then immediately deconstructed. These works are brought into being to stamp their presence on an instant in time leaving the world with only a brief memory recorded of their existence. The image is explored through the inversion of colours . What was light is dark and dark becomes light. Permanence is dismantled yet caught in an instant that allows us the luxury to examine. Inspired by the Vanitas paintings of the early 17th Century this collection of photographs reminds us of the transitory nature of life.
