Guy Says He’s Sick Of Women Complimenting Each Other, Prompts Them To Fill His Thread With Compliments
Social media is known for its ability to make some people feel insecure and ruin their confidence. And not only because many of us don’t feel good enough when we scroll through the airbrushed galleries of the people we follow. It’s also because there are many people who tear each other down with unnecessary rude and hurtful comments.

Last year, a man named Lewis voiced his unpopular opinion on women giving compliments to each other on Instagram. Apparently, it makes Lewis sick to see women bring each other up because to him, complimenting strangers is somehow synonymous to being immature.

I compliment women online and in person all the time - I think most people don't know how awesome they are. I would (and sometimes do) compliment men but then I risk them thinking I'm hitting on them. I wish more people understood - I don't want anything from them, sometimes a compliment is just a compliment.

Oh and another thing. When you see women who DO tear other women down, it’s only because society is very misogynistic and teaches both women and men to hate other women. We are brainwashed into thinking like that, but fortunately most women know better than that.

The world is just a better place when people are happy and complimenting each other. I try to spread the love, if I see someone wearing an awesome top I say something. I even compliment men, especially if they have a great car.

Bored Panda, you could do without the misogynistic stereotypes in your opening paragraph. Yes SOME women tear other women down, but guess what? Men do the same thing to each other. It’s not a gender based thing. Mean spirited people are EVERYWHERE. But fortunately there are MORE women who will gladly stick up for other women when we can.

I'm a female and I actually sort of agree with him (a bit). It gets annoying when girls comment on each other's posts with dumb things like "ANGEL *heart face*" or "why are you so HOT" or "date me sis". I mean they are more like attention compliments and they are often fake. When girls don't get the number of comments they want, their confidence goes down. Instagram can hide the likes but all the fake comments will still be visible

Being kind takes just about zero effort. I love seeing people compliment each other, regardless of gender. Women especially, though, and sometimes an uplifting comment from a stranger can be a very powerful thing. Don't listen to dolts like this guy; apparently he's a bit butt-hurt from not getting this same type of attention...

If i see a beautiful womans pic im gonna like and comment. These days so many people are jealous, mean and coldhearted. I would rather uplift another person than to drag them down. Lewis should shut the f**k up and have a seat. All the people we know now were strangers at one point so his logic is bs. 🤦🤷
